What grinds your gears?

Last night I was using a standard BST/PT camp where I'm getting chain 4's and 5's in the 420+xp range without a ring and had a party riding by verify I planned on being there for a <long time> (I had been at my camp for hours) take over my camp. Not a big deal, so my chains will crap out but its still decent xp a kill... so, I tried to pull a mob and share camp with them they agro all my pets (they'd been watching me for about 15 minutes so they knew I needed them) while I'm fighting (trying to mpk me due to my lack of pets). I had to logout before my pet died to avoid certain death >.> Honorless and frustrating players. /sigh Too fall for a "whoosh" is the forum equivalent to getting "punk'd" on tv.
Ahh..understood. thanks.
Enternius said: Beyond Haste, there's not much a mage can do to make exp go faster. Sure, it's because of mages that exp can go at all (Not all the time, but you know), but it's part of your job to keep melees hasted. Lot of extra work, but it makes exp 15% faster which is something you shouldn't complain about. Have you tried WHM before? Here's why your WHM (should never) try and keep haste on the entire pt. Facts: Haste uses 40mp Haste takes 3 seconds to cast Haste has a 20 second recast 40mp X 6 = 240mp I'll include a 2 second delay average per cast for the cycle making it 25 seconds per cast so it takes 150 seconds to cast haste on the entire party.. and haste only lasts three minutes so the WHM has 30 seconds before they have to restart the haste cycle... oh, wait, you want the WHM to heal too? damn too bad there's no time or mp for that after a few cycles. Now, that said - The main tank should definately have haste but the WHM's main duty(99.5%) & job is to heal the party and that precious mp and mp recovery time is wasted if the WHM has to cast haste on 6 people while trying to heal... If you want the entire party hasted, bring a RDM to pt and let the WHM do their job healing while the RDM tosses haste around along with enfeebles and refreshes. Just my 2 cents. Typically the whm is not going to be hasting themselves and the 1 or 2 support members. If its a meripo of whm,brd,brd/cor,DD,DD,DD all three of those DD better have haste the whole pt or the mage is going to get rep'd in a hurry.
Too true, bring a SMN for hastega lol!
/nod
Hastega on the entire party for 3 minutes at 129 MP > Haste x4-5 for 160-200 MP, not to mention the 12-15 seconds of cast time and the recast time for the cycle. =) isn't hastega from garuda weaker than whm/rdm haste?
Asura.Reublucian
I'm 75 Whitemage and Redmage I'll say as Whm I have no issues hasting the whole party as well as myself and keeping the party alive..
Nope. Hastega from Garuda is the standard 15% haste. The draw back with it is that it's only 90 seconds in duration unless you have gear/merits to increase your Summoning Magic Skill over the cap for your level.
ic, you also have the issue of needing everyone in the aoe range when the BP goes off.
lol, even with their tiny AoE range, it's not hard to hit everyone with the ward if you're a half-decent Summoner.
WHM's hasting a full PT is completely dependant on how good your PT is.
I went to a Merit PT as 72WHM/SMN (I didn't have SCH levelled at this point). I knew the drill in merit pt's, haste DD's and puller brd if i had mp. The DD's were terrible at keeping up shadows and knowing when to cancel berserk, so I ended up burning at least 1 Cure V a fight just to keep people in white HP, not to mention tossing up a 66MP (ish, it might be 64, I don't remember off the top of my head) Regen to the ones that aren't dying too much. Cure 3's to the people in yellow, along with Hastes for the 3 DD. None of the DD used voke.. at all, ever.. So I ended up having to cure the bard too on occasion. Yes, if you have a competant PT, then holding up Haste on 3~4 people is a pretty simple task, but if you have 3 completely useless "tanks", then it's harder than people think. Remora.Disintegration

Or there's the opposite. DDs whose job you haven't leveled, but you're damn sure if you picked up the job at whatever level you left it at, you could do a better job than they are. People that ask you to party when you're not looking, then when you say no they ask you again 30 minutes later. -_-

People that feel the need to tell the linkshell/party members that they just consumed whatever particular narcotic substance. Frankly I would prefer to not exp with a cokehead.
Subligars. Subligars really grind my gears. It's like why do they have to be so ugly? And why are most of them so good?
And before anyone says anything, I know Subligar is Latin for underpants, but still, why would they add that in the game at all? Enternius said: Subligars. Subligars really grind my gears. So that Mithra could be fully geared and still look like they were half naked? o_O; Mithra are half naked in everything. The word "Pants" doesn't exist when it comes to Mithra.

I'm pretty much guilty of that...alot lolol not the coke part though haha Enternius said: Mithra are half naked in everything. The word "Pants" doesn't exist when it comes to Mithra. Same goes for tarus, no legs unless you play in 1600x1200 and zoom in like crazy. It grinds my gears that the item "Instant Reraise" has a description that isn't punctuated.

But don't start talking about it in LS or party please. I don't wana know anything about it.... Enternius said: Subligars. Subligars really grind my gears. It's like why do they have to be so ugly? You wear them (on a male Hume) and your eyes will start bleeding from all the brightness that is your legs. Even worse if you are looking at your characters back, cause it looks like you are mooning yourself. Only on female character are they accepted though.... Snoring.
Makes me want to kill myself. Honestly. No matter how much you love someone, the moment they start snoring, all the love goes flying out the window. Wooooodum said: Snoring.
