Let's see, I'm pretty sure all you get with the ws is the spike damage from the ws? No aftermath? Which makes the difference in damage, I've parsed my 90 spharai vs the +2 version, same gear etc, and yeah didn't match up to spharai.

What are you competing with? Some base damage and some attack that is highly devalued in abyssea. Parses are a bad way of comparing gear by the way. Parses show the difference between players. If you were using both rev fists+2 and spharai and parsing separately, then the people you were playing with may not have been playing the same aggressiveness for example.
If you as spharai were parsing vs someone w/ rev+2, it may have just been a shitty player you were up against.
In terms of max potential, Rev fists+2 are capable of dealing more damage than Spharai

It's going to vary on what you're fighting, but you wouldn't be using final heaven w/ Spharai. In Abyssea, you'd be using Ascetic's fury.
On exp mobs, it'd be easy to average well over 3k w/ smite.

This was before Atma of Apocalyse's stats were finalized, but you're going to get the same relevant increase for each from the triple attack.
