Hello! It's been a year or so since I actually used my NIN and now I want to take it to 85 with allthe new gear and stuff. I just need some help on gearing my NIN because When I stopped playing it I sold all my gear.

So basically I need to gear from the ground up. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I planned on doing that. As for AF3 I planned on getting it asap. Has there been any info on getting seals?

What is a good alternative to Byakko's pants? I don't currently own them.

Aurore Brais is nice and cheap. Haste 3 and 9 acc will do until you get better.

iga hakama +1

Even then you'll still want Haidate for Jin. Anything less than Haidate should not be considered acceptable, this is *** 85 cap.

No. Set's even worse than a non-Haidate mix/match.

@ Zanno really, not Nifty Mantle. Maybe on WS with high dDEX, but not for TP.

/sigh

I never said nifty was optimal, I've only had it for a few days. But the dudes comment "lololol foragers or gtfo" is even more lol worthy than nifty itself. Because if he wanted to be a smart ***, atleast he could have used something better than forager's <.<

like cerberus (+1) for example

And? You still posted a set with an item that is both inferior and more expensive.

I'd imagine Koga Hakama will find a use too, now that NIN can get higher than the Haste* cap, I think.

Editted for brain lapse

Haste > DW
I'm not going to argue against that, had a typo in my post, but if NIN can get, say, 28% Haste with Haidate, would it not be more beneficial to unequip those and equip Koga Hakama? Surely 5% DW > 2% Haste.

(I don't know if they can get 28% or not currently, just an example)

Not gonna have an e-argument about this.

So I got a nifty, kill me. So I posted that in a possible tp set, big deal. was still better than anything anyone else had said before me. And still no one is really giving any advice to op.

Gonna leave this here. Either be helpful and give OP your own advice, or go on about the mantle. Either way I'm out of this thread.

Thing is they wouldn't be able to reach that 28% so, AF2 legs are pretty much useless, aurore brais if you're cheap, AF3 legs +1 for the haste if you work on the seals, or byakko's haidate mhm.

Gotcha. NIN can in fact hit 29% haste (full Iga+2, Bullwhip, Dusk+1, Tiercel), but the full set also grants a DW bonus so I'd drop Dusk Gloves +1 instead.

EDIT: Zanno, QQ more.

The three pieces already ingame don't currently add a DW bonus though, do they?

If so, then I'm completely confused. Making a set rq.

Two things:

First: Full set bonus "Augments Dual Wield", which means it will add some sort of additional trait to it, and most likely won't increase the actual DW amount.

Second: This set has 29% Haste and 45% DW. In all situations, I'd assume adding 5% DW and subtracting 5% Haste will be more beneficial.

Edit: Brain hurts, anyone want to make a straightforward graph that shows the usefulness of 1% Haste vs 1% DW at various levels? Like the one Excelior made for Haste and ACC.

As far as we know the 3 existing pieces are all that's needed for the set bonus, so dropping haste elsewhere is (in theory) more adviseable. I think there's a guy with full DRG AF3+2 here, I'll ask him about it.
