Katana's - ToM

I finally got my

And now I have to either collect 30 coin of glory or 50 helm of Briareus! which both seem to suck monkey ***. Since I'm lazy I'm probably just gonna go with the coins though, they seem to be easier to get and dont need as many.

But I wanna wait til after next update first to see what ToM will be available for respective katana as well.

Anyway, have anyone completed either of these trials? 1509 (Kannagi) or 1510 (Tobi)? If so, how did you get the coins/helms? I have very limited playtime during weeks, and I dont have a linkshell who wanna go and kill these NM's, actually I dont really have a linkshell at all atm, lol.

(If any ls on carby is killing either of these NM's on a regular basis and wanna sell coins/helms pl let me know)

Meanwhile I've started over again, this time with occasionally attack 2-3 times katana, and I will most likely not go the VNM path for the higher base dmg one, again because of lack of play time. Just killing Tammuz 8 times took forever ><, and with play times like mine, I think its a lot easier to go the "kill 600 of X mobs", atleast most of that I can do solo.

I hate Trials of the magicians, and it seems it will NEVER end D:

Almace was the first empyrean weapon to be finished (it also uses briareus helms). Afaik he got pop sets together (Idk how, though) and promised people the atma/quest clear. He also bought some helms

I dont really have the time to hunt *** NM's, unless i win the lottery and can quit my job. in which case I most likely wouldnt spend my time playing ffxi anyway lol

Anyone know if colibri counts as birds when doing trials? Just finished deadly dodo x 3, was really lucky didnt take more than 3.5~4 hours for all kills lol. 400 birds up next, trying to figure out a good camp ^^

They do, I used them for some of my sword trial's 400 bird kills.

Yeah, though sometimes you might run into a pt at the camps. I ended up doing most of mine on marshe murres outside of nashmau, though I'm not sure how easy they would be on nin. On blu I could kill them with just a skillchain, but it's an alternate camp if you need it. ^^

Nope, I think they're like 65ish, not a lot of spawns(I think 10 where I camped) but fast repop.

ok, well I'm doing lesser colibri atm. Figure I might as well put my pt flag up too. nothing wrong with hitting 2 birds with 1 rock, or in this case, katana! :D

thinking dex/oa2-3 should be decent for not that used much NIN
since i have 0 katana merits, just a torque but pretty sure my PCC wins out on it

Even if I hadn't retired nin, I don't think I would have the patience for the oa2-3 katana. The same trials as sword's oa2-3 and I almost went insane on that set @_@ (Got lucky on wamoura and had two really groups during two different firedays.)

I started the OA 2-3 times katana yesterday, and I'm already past the first 3 NM's ^^

Now all I have to do is mindlessly whacking away of defenceless mobs. Til I get to the wamouras that is, kind of wonder if I can solo those as nin/dnc efficiently :/

Their defense is pretty crazy, soloable, but their blaze spikes attack will hurt. Some trials use wamoura on firesday, I usually watched for shouts for them, then stayed after firesday and duoed them with my rdm friend. Sometime I had others working on oa2-3 come by and we'd team up.

any idea what they check as @ lv80? should be EM-T? as /DNC the spikes shouldnt be too much trouble i think/hope though.

The larva we're like DC to EM(maybe, can't remember exactly) That's where I got most of my kills, the moths were EM-T, and only did those when I was in a decent size group.

ah ok, well that seems doable. besides, I dont think im gonna be killing those until lv cap is 85 anyway ^^

Sooo, I got a level sync 62 pt on birds to help out with my ToM trial.

10 minutes in the party it looks like this.

I think I will just solo from now on.

nope the SS program in windows 7 has a built in highlighter lol

Do the birds @sky count and do the still give you exp @lv80?

oh lv 62 is harder to keep shadows up and it helps if you have a brd, but it gets better @63 for a nin

They do count, and yeah birds in sky still give exp at 80.
