Mine is almost 400 but im elvan and i didnt merrit vit either and this is as 80mnk/40nin. I will add my gear later when I fell like logging into the um game.
Sorry I don't have any screen shots but I can tell you how much I get back and what gear I use.

Haha I was all excited to see some screenshots, and there isn't one yet... I don't really have a chakra set, just a couple items soo... yeah, only 300.

About 370 odd I think last time I checked. I had a pretty good Chakra set.

471 in campaign as mnk/dnc lvl 75 I remember that or 417 75 as mnk/nin in salvage this is best gear you can get excluding back rings/earrings. Vegetto's 486 sounds about right for max chakra pre update outside of campaign I know what he wears for it. (pre 6 stat rings 3 stat earrings).

Could go out tommorow buy 2 5 or 6 vit rings and 2-3 vit earrings and top 500 in campaign but tbh imo 300k + per ring for chakra when its almost a challenge to use chakra faster than my salvage mages can cure me and get a decent ammount of hp from it seems a bit pointless. That and I need moar inv space.

I usually let my mages know when chakra is up and that I'll use it next time my HP hits yellow. Saves them some MP etc.

As a Mithra monk - i'm only hitting 447 HP without merits(56 VIT).
Apart from self "erase" and temporary survival skil, i find it best used for solo play or when you're just raised, as a countdown for weakened duration. Switch to max hp set around 780 hp to avoid dying due to possible accidents during downtime.
Missing Melee Cape and Fortitude Torque along with another VIT + 2 and above earring.

453 as MNK/NIN with +400 over the course of 2 minutes from 5/5 invigorate. My set is the same as tiger's except I use a topaz in place of 1 soil, no sitabaki, no earrings, and I use a shield collar +4 vit. Total: +51

Both those things. Seems like whenever I'm ready to pop it, CureIVs start coming in. Damn you, mages, for being on the ball! I can imagine this would be worse, too, for those getting 400+ -- I feel like I have to wait long enough to not waste it and to leave some room for invigorate.

I probably have way too much stuff for mnk but I find that I can carry almost everything on /war if I keep all expendable items tools/food etc in satchel. Although I only bring out MDT gear when it's needed.

Rings, earrings, legs could make it better but I haven't been focusing on MNK in a bit and haven't had the spare inventory to finish it up. Shield collar is a nice neck for it though for those w/out torques. ~390-something 78 mithra, no vit merits.
I'm with Mabrook. My rdm and blu eat up so much of my inventory, I don't really have the space to carry around an entire set just for Chakra. I have a couple pieces that I have kept and/or use for other things, and mine are usually between 350 and 380.
Half the time I'm only using Chakra to get rid of some nasty poison anyway.

I don't think that either of them have put their fullest efforts into it yet. These are just preliminary rounds, I am sure.

In terms of actually playing mnk, I think I'm up there at the cream of the crop (again not using Vyv as an example i haven't seen him play etc.). In terms of gear, there's plenty that beat me.
