You can't go from Silver to Bronze for example but you will drop from Silver IV to Silver V if your MMR isn't on par or above the minimum value set for Silver IV.
You can easily know if you are on par or above based on the points you gain per match. For example I used to get 30+pts per win, means I'm slightly higher (I'm at 40%) so if I were to go up to at least Bronze III, I would be fine.

Communication really does make a huge difference. For this local tourney, I was thrown into a random team (and picked as captain) so we have been doing ranked for practice. 6-1, we start every game from behind, but always use communication to come back and win. That, and we refuse to quit. Rule #1 of ranked, never surrender.

I normally won't surrender exactly at the 20 minute mark, because a bad early game doesn't always mean a loss
but in general in 5s play (so not soloqueue, but having all 5 people being people you know) first blood, first turret, and first dragon will generally determine who will win the game

They're tweaking honor:
We’ve reduced the threshold for unlocking the Great Teamwork, Leader and Mentor crests, making them slightly easier to obtain
Some players will be granted new crests, since they’ll now qualify under the new criteria
We’ve increased the threshold required to unlock the Honorable Opponent crest, making it more difficult to obtain

I will fortify my defenses with wards and fiercely shove my lane opponent back to base at every chance I get. I'll shunpo to and twirl on the faces of my enemies and always execute them with my noxian guillotine. I'll taunt foes and laugh at them as they get melted and I'll tumble and condemn the heretics and witches. Must kill every dragon and baron and win all my games!

GGU vs. CRS was one of the best games I've ever seen
I really hate solo Queue. I destroy as Sivir, going 6-1 in lane, ending up 29-6 by the end. Singed is over confident we win, so he afk's. I die after taking 2 inhibs, and while I'm dead their team marches. The 3 on my team get picked off 1 by 1, and we lose.
