Benchmark is screwy.
I scored 3700 on low with a Q6600 (But I do have a superior GPU) The benchmark is still garbage. I wouldn't base your ability to run the game off of it period. It said my rig would barely be able to run it, and it runs its perfectly. Not at max settings of course, but damn close to it.
but i mean with my rig, i want to be able to run it on the highest settings if i can handle it. will it be able to?

and that u like assign points to stats or something can you tell what's holding me back from the max? i'm kind of new to these kinds of things, and the benchmark doesn't tell you ***haha

I haven't personally looked at how the increase in points progresses (though I would assume it does with increased physical/job rank levels.) My only major gripe though (and this is a massive gripe) is that when you change classes, your current set of abilities aren't kept, or "remembered" in your hotbar. They are erased and you have to reset each additional ability outside your basic attack, which can be extremely tedious later on. Cerberus.Wolfshadow

Benchmark just crashes every time i attempt to start it, no direct x error etc., just after a second of the black screen after selecting character etc. it just crashes QQ.

So I guess i'd have to buy a new computer to play ffxiv huh?
Probably cant afford that so I'll be needing to sneak into one of your houses and play it. Leave the key under the rock by the back door please <.<! No you're not! Your lack of a correcting me on having to buy a new computer says its true, so in order to properly shout whenever i hit the Thunder IV macro (makes it land harder), I'll need to get my own computer lest i wake you up at night, so instead of looking for other people's homes to sneak into we're going to start a marathon, each mile you run you give me $100, just a few more miles and i'll have enough money!

nevermind, i just scored a 4114 when i overclocked my GPU
bah i gotta seriously upgrade my comp x.x;
im not that good at comps though... i know ill need a new graphics card, cause its just a ati radeon 200 chip set... but im not sure if i even need to replace the processor. when i pressed the windows and 'r' button, i was able to see that the processor i have is a... Intel Pentium D cpu 2.80 ghz (2 cpus). does anyone know if that will work with 14? idk where to check online for it, and id try the comp store but im betting theyre more than likely to just say anything to get me to buy something from out of there. just download the benchmark.
http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/media/benchmark/na/ Ignore what it says about how well it will run. Anything higher than a 500 will still run FFXIV.
i did, it wont run and wont say why it doesnt X.x im sorry i comp noob! D=
SE has confirmed they're working on a new Benchmark for a non alpha build.
Now they just need to fix the archaic and unwieldy UI and FFXIV will actually be ready for a retail launch. ;/ Phoenix.Oumura said: The benchmark is still garbage. I originally scored an 1872 on the low resolution setting with the following specs: Intel® Core(tm) i7-720QM @1.6GHz (Boosted to 2.68GHz) 4GB DDR3 RAM (Upgradeable to 8) ATI Mobility Radeon HD5730 (1GB GDDR3 Video Memory) The game runs perfectly fine despite the benchmark telling me, by its own score, that my computer would barely be able to run it. The damn thing is a laptop to boot. Nothing to sneeze at mind you, but a laptop nonetheless. Odin.Zicdeh said: SE has confirmed they're working on a new Benchmark for a non alpha build. Hopefully this one will be able to detect multi-core systems, and possibly systems with crossfired GPUs. o-ob |
