I often hear “I can’t find a group to do X.” Well personally with my limited playtime as a father of 2, it’s been hard finding groups. So through the use of my Twitch Stream, a group slowly formed and after months of learning, leveling appropriate jobs, learning the fights through bg-wiki notes and accepting we may fail, we cleared our first Ou! It was an awesome achievement and I am looking forward to doing more content with our group! I usually play WAR when our LS does Provenance -- however, last night our usual THF wasn't available, so I volunteered to THF it up. Huge thank you to all the players [You know who you are] that helped along the way to our first Aeonics, it was a very intense journey indeed. Lots of preparations and determination to achieve this as a team. Special thanks to [Quendi, Nitenichi, Udoopudooo and Frostrike] who were always pushing us forward and investing lots of time offering help and advice, many times we woke them up early to be on our runs since we are EU and they are US… that wasn’t easy at all!Huge thank you to all the players [You know who you are] that helped along the way to our first Aeonics, it was a very intense journey indeed. It's moments like these which makes FFXI a special game. Where fans of the series can bunch together and overcome obstacles. We grinded for over a year to become strong enough to tackle what the game has to offer. We're not hardcore players, none of us are elitist, we don't show off and we always have time for those who need help. We win and lose like a family. When we lose, we come together to figure out why. I've always hated having to lead stuff, but these guys make it easy. I've always found the best group of players are those who do what you want, before you even thought of asking them too. They take it upon themselves to do what is right given the situation, and that's due to practice, it's due to listening. It's due to wanting the best for everyone there. We don't have a LS bank. We don't have a points system. We don't have hoarders, we pass items/gear to whoeever needs it most. And we're not closed off to the world, we'll take anyone who is willing to do what they can to win. I already said my thanks in our post in the Cerberus sub-forum. So when someone says you need to be on a populated server to make an Aeonic, let it be known that it doesn't matter how many players are on the server, so long as you can find a nice, small group of players who want to succeed, then anything is possible. It might take longer, but the journey is always better than the destination. We wear our Aeonics with pride, and we'll keep going as long as this remains fun. Peace out.
