We've seen 2 Savory Shanks off it also. Been spamming it for days to get the torque. Was an unexpected nice surprise for the ring. If you think its not legit you can see him wearing it on his character on AH as of today.

Can confirm it does drop Beastly/Savory Shank (the other unity kings also drop their respective pop items).

As much as I'd like to say Kenrusai's theory is correct. He/she isn't. The reason I know this is because I was there at the time killing KB (0/106 BTW). There is no way that they could have gotten the drop off the KB at the same time as their fight took nearly to the time limit (as well as the fact that we popped multiple KB/B in a row). So, good try. Now for the OMG YOU'RE LYING! HAX!!! RATE HIM DOWN!!!! onslaught.

fake, they killed a king behemoth which dropped dring prior to opening a coffer, and passed the ring as he opened the coffer to make it appear as though it came from the coffer.

This is definately legit, but at the same time i can imagine the drop rate being as low as the KB rate. But it does drop from SB too =)

@Alibeemac: A character having a Defending Ring is only proof that they have one, not where they got it from.
