re: 100% drop rates, group I was with had a Hakutaku where no O.Hat dropped, but after a lengthy GM conversation (which included a consult with an SGM) this was the answer:
If everyone in the group already has the rare/ex item, it won't load. It doesn't drop and get lost, it just doesn't load. In the O.Hat case, the person it was for was outside ally and the plan was to swap them in once the treasure dropped, but it ended up costing us a cluster (GM couldn't replace it, sadly).
That's probably what happened in the case of the no Joyeuse drop set, too.
Short version: Make sure the person who needs it is in party/alliance.
@Enternius - This is actually very simple to test with a rather large field of data to work with. There are several mobs in the game that drop things "100%" of the time. Some of them even have fairly low respawn timers. I challenge you to go out, find one, get its drop, drop it, and then kill it again when it repops, rinse, repeat, and then proceed to realise how much of a moron you are for saying that there arent any absoloute 100% chance drop rates in this game. Saying that they would use some silly value like 65535/65536 is ignorant. If they wanted to,they could very well make something "65536/65536" with a line of code attached to it removing its ability to drop when certain conditions are present(IE already having the item if its rare).
Arguing on the internet is like winning a race in the Special Olympics.. even if you win ... you are still retarded... p.s. TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL ... sure its not 100% it just drops 100% of the time 99% drop rate .. sounds legit....
I was in a party where it didn't drop once, but I don't remember the circumstances. For all I know everyone already had it, and the guy camping just forgot? I already had it at the time.
It is quite literally not a 100% drop. There's absolutely no such thing as a 100% drop in this game, just something like a 99.998% drop because the highest SE uses is 65535/65536 drop rate. In order to make it a true 100% drop rate, SE would have to totally rework the system of the game. Everything is based off a 256 system and nothing is actually 100%.
