Health Care Reform Passes

Dasva, I was taught not to take a penny from the government, and my children/grandchildren will hear it until the day I die! (from lack of health insurance of course!)

Oh, Dasva.. You gave the opinion that anyone who doesn't have insurance and is all for the bill is a "moocher and/or bleeding heart." So, in that way, yes, I am. I'd be considered a bleeding heart more than anything.

And, apparently, because I'm for the bill you think I'm all for asking everyone to pay for my health care cost? Give me a break. If you've had these things done while uninsured, then why are you arguing with me about my post about my opinion and, possibly, even educating those who don't know how much things can cost without insurance?

I wouldn't go that far. I mean you do (I assume you pay taxes social security etc) pay alot into it. A country is supposed to work for the poeple as much as the people work for it.

Now do I think alot of government spending is extraneous and should be things you pay for for yourself and we should do that and lower taxes? Yes.

Hell it's a fact government spending is wasteful and there are alot of programs out there that kinda make you wonder wtf. Like for example I found... "Washington will spend $2.6 million training Chinese prostitutes to drink more responsibly on the job"

How about making insurance companies illegal? It's a corporation who's sole mission is to make money... Profit first!

If you make insurance illegal and people no longer pay for auto insurance, health insurance, house insurance etc. and instead we are taxed a lower amount (at cost obviously because the government isn't there to make a profit) then we would end up saving way more money and be able to actually spend money on what matters i.e. our house bill and car payment.

But Cordareo, what about all of those lost jobs at insurance companies!?!?!1201/!/!

Herp, derp... let's give them jobs investing into green energy, renewable resources, reducing pollution, eliminating crime etc. How about we put them through school to do something else?

But no... Republicans are all about profit worship and everyone pays their "fair" share. They believe that everyone can magically be rich and that the way to do it is give tax breaks to people who obviously can buy an entire house in one paycheck...

Things I have noticed from any thread not dealing with FFXI:

#1-OMFG now they are takeing my taxes for somethign I dont like(Unless you make a rather nice income 125k+/yr, your tax dollar does little more than pay for schooling for yuor children, a military to defend you, police, fire and ambulance services. The guy makeing 250k is the guy that has the right to be pissed because he is getting hosed.)

#2-Get rid of the IRS (Are yuo *** kidding me? The IRS is one of the few jobs that strictly employees American Citizens. Now if you want to pay them all welfare and unemployment we cna abolish it, if not keep the crappy system so they have jobs and dont potentially take yours)

#3-Democrats suck/republicans suck (I have news for you, most people in general suck so obviously most politicians are going to suck. There is just way to much money involved to make anyone truely unbiased)

#4 the majority of people do or do not want this (That was fine when ther were 100k peole decideing something and we were all farmers. Now with the sheer number of citizens and the fact that such a large number are of very low intellegence or are highly misled becuase they only get there news from one place, choices arent so simple as a majority. If 100,000,001 say kill all people over the age of 60 and 100,000,000 say dont what do you do?)

Well whenever the government makes a spending program, it will never take it away for fear of angering voters. And whenever there is a big bunch of cash lying around (social security), they spend it and now we have none. :D

And yeah they take a sh*tload away, but really I don't expect to see any of it again. :)

Pork Barrel Spending actually has increased, even though we dont have the money for it.....

While I disagree with the first part it's only because I agree with the 2nd part.

Nationalism has it's downs but it is certainly better than having a general popultion not actually liking there country (or at least better than others). Also people kinda need to idenitify themselves in a group to more or less gang up on other groups if only in there head. Great movitation to trying to improve ones country.

Anyone that argues against social services must enjoy thier hatred for homeless people and anyone unfortunate or plain broke. Hell they probably hate broke people that are 65+ collected medicaid, which is most of the folks that age. I can't understand the wierd anti US rants. Bills I don't like get passed all the time so I voice with my vote. So what if people vote to take care of old people and babies, now this bill extends to allow some poor guys and girls some treatment for that thing they worry about or whatever ailments pending. Do you even know what trickle down economics is? You don't give people money.You stop taxing the living bejesuses out of them because they make more. Money is spent on goods, services, etc and doesnt sit in offshore bank accounts. A guy with a huge house and lots of money is going to employ more people than a high school student making 8 bucks an hour.

From speaking to my 5 or 6 Canadian friends, I've come to realize that your government has some "Serious" consumer protection practices in place. One of my friends couldn't get a credit card for several months.

Here they are given out with little or no income verification.

... yea but that is in store for a good reason, I take it Canada is watching our debt consumption, so that, us the consumer doesn't elevate our country into a more serious matter. Were trying to fix out debt, not add to it.
