Favourite track from an old favourite Genesis game that (in my opinion) really brings out the best in that unwieldy sound chip.
The composer, Yoshinobu Hiraiwa, is only ever credited on this one game. Which is weird, because every song in Ranger-X (Ex-Ragna in Japan) is an A+. I think the company that made it only made like 2 games or something too, and in addition to the amazing soundtrack that transcends that gaming generation, it was equally visually stunning.

Xaander absolutely crushing this page with one of my all-time favourite franchises.
Here's another from that same era, remastered in 2020. I still remember the first time I ever heard it, the lights in the room were dim and I closed my eyes. I imagined myself leagues under the sea, trapped in a steel cylinder, hiding silently from the warships above.

I have the hand-eye coordination of a sea sponge, so I'd never be able to actually play this game. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy its fantastic OST!
