Uncapped CoP areas?

So if they uncap all the CoP areas what does that mean?
1: Anyone can now solo all 3 promys
2: Beating CoP is no longer an achievement to show off
3: Those of us who beat CoP no longer can find meaning in having beaten CoP cause anyone can do easily now.
Wheres the logic in this? Why make the game more easier and noob friendly? Like I keep saying SE is just turning us into WoW. Am I right? What do you all think?

I think they are preparing for server population to fall. At some point in the next year or two FFXI's populations is gonna fall dramatically and having a linkshell of 50+ people is gonna be rare. To compensate for the smaller groups they seem to be making single characters more powerful.
They are just taking this decade year old game into the next stage of its metamorphosis. Yes it does suck for people that have been playing a long time. However, as a newer player I will say it is very hard to enter endgame linkshells for new players. I for one am happy that i might actually get the chance to see some of the game that I probably will otherwise have never gotten to see.

Honestly, they won't uncap the BCNMs. Walk to the BCNM area by themselves, sure.
Things like the Sacrarium mission, and climbing Promy-Vazhl killing the 3 NMs on the way would be cake.

The problem with that is the thing that makes this game so much more different than all the other MMOs out there is that this one is actually challenging and requires some level of skill. If that is no longer the case this game ceases to be unique and different and alot less fun.

I guess. But for the ones that have CoP done, why is it less fun? lol. I guess if you don't want friends you have to hurry the hell up and join you in sea and limbus then maybe.

yes it requires skill. It also requires insane amounts of people and a flexible schedule, which is fine, but if you dont have access to a large scale shell or even a dedicated group of friends its hard to enjoy the game.
I've never finished CoP and quite frankly I was perfectly ok with that, but if i get the chance to do it with some dedicated friends I don't see the problem. Aside from that it appears that they are adding new area's and monsters for those that are "hardcore" to deal with.

1. The BCNMs have a level cap already, so they may very well stay that way. I'd like to see the Climbs less of a *** at least.
2. They've nerfed CoP once already, and people said the exact same thing.
3. Same as 2, really. In addition, I always find it funny that people don't value their own accomplishments unless they can use it to make themselves out to be better than somebody else.
But of course, it's gotta be XI "turning into WoW," couldn't possibly be that SE is actually putting some thought into what they're doing and noticing that the game is changing.

This exactly. I seriously doubt the BCNMs are going to be uncapped.
If you follow the storyline, the monsters are having their power forcibly bound as well, which makes it likely the monsters will uncap as well. When you take both these factors into account, the difficulty of CoP may not be decreasing at all.
It's likely just a way to introduce lvl 87-103ish mobs without taxing ffxi's undersized dev team

The means that Promy , Riverne , Pso'Xja , Sacararium , Ect will be uncapped . Sev makes a valid point that its possible that Removing the caps will increase Mob Lv . I do remember soemthing about that being mentioned , i think its before goin in P. Aquaducts , that the Lv caps are to weaken the Mobs .
It's likely that these Areas will become the some of the New 75-99 Camps . Even if the Mob Lvs dont change and the BCNMs remained capped , which is highly likely , You'll still need 4+ ppl to defeat . Only Missions like 2-3 and 4-3 will become easier . Still have to 3 Paths , still have to Lv60 Airship . Still have to fight Tenzen (although that is uncapped , making it completely ownable by a Single 85+ most likely) , Still have to run around Sea and do the Escort/Tower Climb .
While reducing Difficulty , it by no means reduces the accomplishment , IMHO .

I can't even start CoP, never mind finish it. I have found it impossible to get a group together to do the Promies and gave up trying to do so ages ago, because of this none of my characters have even made it to Tavnazia.

why spend time and money killing the game in a roundabout way like windower bans when you can pull the plug in 10 seconds for free without creating a bunch of angry banned people who won't play ffxiv

because it creates business in a bad way. instead of SE saying well we got tired and it wasnt weilding the profit margins we wanted we pulled the plug, instead they can do it legelly so they can always turn and say "well we did it by the book, it was u guys who was using a illgal program" and what it will all ball down to is them being right and you being wrong (you, meaning people who used it) case close. so they wont lose future investments with people, just the people of XI using windowers will be the lost market lol and theoretically some of the people using windowers will be all mad and ***at first but then if another SE game comes out and they want to play it most of them will be like "well damn i was wrong to do what i did maybe i'll give (new x SE game) a try" *hint* salavge ban lol.
people saying "no, it cant happen SE will never do this" well let me tell u something to keep server running: cost money. to keep staff: cost money. to update: cost money. building in which everything and buisness is held (section or wing): cost money. everything cost money and if they are gaining a low profit in return or a number inwhich they are not satisfied with it may be more cost efficient to just cease all operation and work with a fresh new idea, new things is what draws people in, things/games that been out for 7year prior wont really get u more custmors
edit: im not saying the windowers ban will take place now, but it will happen maybe a year after 14 comes out idk... personally i think they are waiting to see how 14 is going to jump off, they want to see if 14 is going to get them the same amount of profit as eairler FFXI, if this happens this is when i think they will come after XI in a means to minimize it drastically aka windowers ban, and do another server merge were its like 3-5 servers then cut staff, building space ectect and let it die off this way.

I don't understand how making something that you've already completed easier for other people is a bad thing, I've seen a few other people since the announcement share your sentiment. I can't help but wonder if you, along with the others that share your way of thinking declined entering the Mog Bonanza simply because you wouldn't have earned the gear or gil yourself, so it wouldn't have "meant" anything.
SE isn't aiming to take anything away from you, they're just keeping the game alive for the rest of us that aren't jumping ship for 14/Aion/WoW/ect.

on edit: I could see being upset about this if you hadn't completed things yet and wanted more of a challenge though, but I agree that probably just the zones will be uncapped and not the BCNM itself.

Coming from a guy who completed CoP twice (Going on three times) pre-first nerf, after, and will probably wrap up my mule sometime after this update.
I had a harder time the last two times than the first. Seriously, have you looked at the quality of some players now? I'm not saying they need 1337 gear but no one now wants to bring basic items such as RR, won't listen, communicate, and half the time someone in the party makes a harmless suggestion and someone else decides they've questioned their mother's virtue.
If you want to brag, be sure to mention your # on your friend's list so people know you've been playing since pre-nerf, and finished CoP the first (Or only, or whatever) time before all the patches that prevent lost exp, improved drop rates, items, etc, etc.
I for one am glad next time I'm in Sacrarium, it will be because I want to help someone, but because I know they really need it.
tl;dr Been said after each CoP fix, old news, find new bragging rights if you want or if don't invite people to your shells if you feel like it unless they're "old-school".

The level cap removal is probably to add additional EXP camps without adding new zones (assuming all the zones are hosted on one server, we're nearly maxed out on zone addresses).

Square has always been Cryptic in giving info . I am like 90% sure the BCNMs will all still be capped @ current Lvs . Its best balance between making progression easier , but not making it dumb easy . I mean if they remove all the Caps , anyone could Lv up to 75+ and Just thier way thru CoP in a few days wheres now even with a Reliable static would probly take you a few months . Since there is no mention of Zilart (since even RMT have no real trouble getting to Sky and beyond in that story line) Caps i have stick by my statement this cap removal affects only Areas , Not BCNMs .
In short the only parts of CoP that will be affected are Missions 2-3 ( Aquaducts ) and 4-3 (Sacrarium) . but i think i said this already.........

The funniest thing you said was # 2 beating cop is a fukin acheivement lol and lol again. If you don't want the lv cap off go do the qst with a lv 50 job if all your jobs are 75 go find a lv 50 player and lv sync. Sad how at the slighest hint of change and the QQing starts honestly this game is dead the nails are in the coffin and i myself am so happy they are revamping this relic dam game 10 years old. Honestly if your a vet player and you still haven't beat cop then shoot yourself.
edit: you know what fun is ? fun is grabing 3 ls buddys and doing some miss/qst est boss fights and with the new 99 lv hopefully trio some old endgame stuff thats fun in my book.
you know whats ghey sitting around for hours shouting wasting time praying you can get 3 or 4 more to do a run. Logging on realizing you cannt camp that nm you want that gear from because it takes 12 to beat the nm and only 5 in your ls are willing to help. So god forbid if se now makes it possible to "get stuff done" with a small group.

Promathia areas aren;t the fights I dont think. For instance, Riverne will be uncapped, but the BCNM style fights in Monarch Linn will stay the same. I would be pissed if they uncapped the fights and I just finished Ouryu.

I've never been made fun of for not having CoP done, but it does piss me off that it's not done and I can't seem to get help doing it.. Tired of not having Sea.

I think it's just to help people move along. No excuse to not do it and get it out of the way. The missions are fun and the story is amazing. But it'd be much more fun if they were challenging but at least everyone can move along and get their ring.
