It may just be because I have a privacy issue with my family and my middle brother despises anything that has the essence of "Ayden" and believes that I will fail in life. :x

Boo. ;~; I feel ya though, man. I'm basically spending my Thanksgiving alone. My family just left to celebrate, and I now have to go to bed because I have work tonight. I tried to sleep once right when I got home from work, but I didn't manage.

I figure if I ever get involved with a guy I'll work it the same way that I would work getting involved with a lady. Just bring him/her home one day. I think that'll work. ^^ As it stands right now. I'm still interested in neither, it seems. I worry too much about paying bills and for college, and getting out of my folks' house. It's gonna be weird once that's all taken care of.

It's okay, my brother hates me too. In fact he uses the fact that I'm gay as another excuse to dislike me. Though he's always hated me anyways so it really doesn't matter. Lucky for me he's fat and ugly and miserable or I might have to take it personally. =3

Morning everyone! Happy Thanksgiving, although I've already celebrated...

Apparently it's coming out day? Been there done that... I'm sorry to see so many of you have had problems with it; it seems the results are usually one or the other end of the reaction spectrum.

My experience went amazingly well, and was also sort of unique. Three years ago (sheesh, that long?) I wanted to invite the guy I had been dating to my high school prom. The thing is, we had met in FFXI and and never met in person. He lived in Sarasota FL and I live in Ontario Canada. I mentioned the idea to my Mom and got the typical "we have always sort of known" thing, and everything after that was perfect. When Naeem (bf, FFXI/real name... long story) flew in I promptly introduced him to the important people in my lives: my mother's parents, my dad's mother, and my dad and step mom. Everyone was cool with the whole thing. My grandparents in particular were very embracing, although none of them could pronounce his name... (it's Naimul or Naeem - he's bangladeshi/puerto rican and I'm german and english <_< what do you expect, lol.) Anyways, we ended up skipping prom all together and spent the night at Niagara Falls doing some of the lame tourist attractions, getting rained on, seeing a rainbow after, and watching fireworks over the falls. It suspect it will forever be one of the most romantic nights of my life, and I don't regret skipping something as superficial and hollow as prom at all. Besides, I hated most of the people I went to school with anyways. <3.

After all that we ended up seeing each other multiple times. By pure coincidence my Grandparents have had a cottage in Sarasota for over 20 years. I had been there several times when I was younger, and it was about 10 minutes from where he lived. Sometimes I like to think fate really does exist...

Anyways I just noticed the time and if I don't leave now I'm going to be late for my classes. I'll be back later to see how everyone is. I don't have time to proof read what I wrote so hopefully it's not too bad.

lmfao, coming out to my mom was the most HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE ***ever. I came out to my friends in 9th grade at age 14, and it'd been completely fine. I only lost one friend because he was slightly homophobic, and hot, and i was still really immature and i kept jokingly telling him he was hot :\ so it was mostly my fault. When i came out to my mom i was 15 and in 10th grade. Just keep in mind my mom is carribbean. Anyway, my step grandmother had to come stay with us for like a week or 2 cause she was old and sick and dying. She was staying in my mom's room so my mom had to stay in my room. During this time i started feeling closer to her. I wanted to build a relationship with her and i wanted to be able to talk to her about hot guys and stuff. So i decided i was gunna tell her. my friend from ffxi, valthonis, told me that it was too early but i ddn't listen to him. We were about to go to sleep one night and i told her and she was all "it's ok, i don't care, we'll talk about it tomorrow" I thought it went well so i was happy. no. the next day the woman started interrogating me. this *** was going hardcore. "why do you think you like boys? are you depressed? did someone touch you? when did you start to think you like boys? do you have a boyfriend? did you have sex with a boy?" she didn't understand that i didn't think i knew. she was under the impression that you have to try things out before you knew for sure, which is not the case >.> although i had done some things >.> Then she started bringing up her religion (i'm agnostic and anti-religious, but she doesn't know that). "blah blah blah god's gunna send you to hell and he's gunna send me to hell and you're gunna become feminine and blah blah blah" She was pretty much just spewing ignorance and stupidity at this point so i was in "yea ok mom, yea, that's right"-mode. after that she left, and i cried :\ The next day (funniest part) i came home and my mom was sitting in the den with some random old black carribbean lady. She was smiley. The house smelled like incense. There were dead, crushed up, and burnt leaves throughout the house in random places. They had been burning leaves over the stove. My mom had the house "spiritually cleaned". LMFAO. after that, i just kept agreeing with everything she said and the she believed i was straight. now i'm 17 and she pretty much know i'm gay but she's in denial and i still get the occasional "do you like any girls? do you have a girlfriend?" my dad would be fine with it and wouldn't care much. the only problem is the awkwardness and finding the right time to tell him. plus he's one of those "my son's gunna grow up and have a wife and children and i'm gunna be proud"-kinda dads. but i don't care about family as much as other people. my other family can find out if they do. I'm not directly telling them though because they're all black and ghetto and christian and i don't wanna deal with that >.> i just don't value family that much.

Well, overall i think you did it too early, wait a few more years (e.g. when youre completely independent of their ***) and well, try again. My mom was ok, cuz well she "suspected it". I keep telling her that she is an awesome mom. She had 3 kids, one male straight, one female straight and a gay one. She done good and has the set. :D

Something else is going on there then. I'd probably press the matter further. Nobody just gets up one day and suddenly decides they wanna do something like that.

he's bi. he's open about it. he doesn't care who knows. but he usually just lets people assume he's straight cause you couldn't tell.

I don't think bugging him about it would help.

I know if I broke up with someone and then they spent the day trying to talk to me when I clearly didn't want to I would just like them even less.

Idk, it could be one of those situations where the person WANTS you to press them for more info. I know a few people like that. :\

While it seems silly, the person may assume that you don't care if you don't press any further.

In my experience, bothering someone about it right away just makes things worse.

I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone who is that attention ***-ish.
