Could be a handful of things, but it's probably more obvious that it's just Vista doing it's usual thing. Being a cruddy OS.
Firefox sometimes (very rarely mind you) has memory leaks, especially with the newest versions.
And your explorer.exe might have had a memory leak as well, and didn't automatically restart itself.

lol would help if you had sorted the processes..
my god HP outta be ashamed to have so many processes running in the background...
Reset open task manager look look for any processes that look out of the ordinary.
because if explorer uses that much cpu power at idle there's something that shouldn't be there

After restart Processes are on 88-89
CPU usage 14-90%
Staying most between 45-75%

I can resoirt the processes just gotta let me know sort by most CPU, most memory, or by name, that Shot is sorted by CPU usage
I'm lookin at my brothers Vaio right now he has 34 proceess and CPU usage 0-3% =(

Do you happen to know what kind of processor your laptop has? And what's the GHz on it?
There also might be a ton of junk it's looking through that it doesn't need to, in which case: Go to My Computer, right click Local Disk C and click Properties, then run the Disk Cleanup and check every box and click Okay. This will delete useless garbage your computer accumulates over time and ultimately give itself room to breathe.

It looks all right then, Lol. Are you still experiencing windows lagging at all at the moment?

When I havent started running the game so I wouldnt know just yet if it starts laggin up and crap, but even without all the CPu Usage That seems like x10 the number of Proccess my computer should be runnign while idle ><

Well as of right now no random lag spikes (In Aht Urhgan too)
So seems to be running fine, I just hope it's not a bad habbit on the computer cause if it is I'd have to do alot of restarting

No problem! POL usually takes around that much CPU while in a heavily populated area, where being in your MH would only have it around 28~38ish, which is normal.

I play on lap top as well and have had to deal with huge lag issues like you describe. Got to the point to where I couldnt even do anything or view any action without being "locked out" from performing any action. I got a cooling fan and have been running beautifully since. Try that, you can get a decent one for $20-$30.
