I really dont see how its better or worse. In the case that its NEWER, makes it better, but its pretty much an exact copy of GoW with a different skin on it.
I loved every GoW title thus far, I played the demo for Dante's and I will be renting it before I buy it. If its anything like any GoW titles I'll have it beaten in a weekend. I hate it when people "Fix" my quotes.
I would have mentioned the "vast majority of games being released" but there isnt anything out there WORTH BUYING OR MENTIONING that I wont have beaten in a weekend. Was gonna buy it then changed my mind when I heard its 10 hours...
Sucks too because I llooooved the demo but I can't justify spending that much on such a short game. >_< and yes GOW rocks haha. yeah, Dante's Inferno sucks... Better off renting it.
Is the Demo on PSN? I was thinking of getting this game cause of its storyline. Seemed like a really good one regardless of GI Review of Controls/Graphics but the story does seem good. GI reports the controls are like GOW, is it really?
I have to say I rather enjoyed the Divine Comedy.

Game play is alright. Reminds me of God of War a lot.
Well it's kind of a given it's going to be alot like GoW, but I think the real reason to play it is due to it's story/lore/style. I dunno what you guys think, but I think it's pretty badass slicing and dicing your way through the 7 levels of hell and fighting Lucifer himself.
The animation movie they released for the game is very well done. Making me want to play, the stage bosses looks great. Good way to promote the game I think. Game looks perfect for a week-end rental.
Wow that looks awesome. Definitely gonna pick that one up when it comes out. Should be a good psyche up prior to getting the game.

Nine circles of hell. ^_^)b Rent it unless you're getting the PS3 "Divine Edition", which comes with a product key to unlock the DLC for free, and you're the kind of person that likes to actually own games, rather than purchase->return->repeat farming your local EB/Gamestop/Future/Gamecrazy/etc. Oh, and the BluRay/DVD animated thing is already out too. This girl I see, her dad bought the game and he and I use to play GoW together. Game is pretty much same style of play and has more ***.

Then a read a few post and realized my error. ;; The actual Divine Comedy was rather good, but I was surprised at the end to find Satan also punished in hell, frozen in a lake of ice chewing on the souls of the three top betrayers. As Satan is supposedly the prince of hell, I was surprised when Dante had him punished there instead of ruling there. I really ought to research that. Er, I mean. Nevermind, carry on. D: I'm in THIS group. ^^ This Game doesn't deserve a low rating, just because it's close to GoW doesn't mean it's a bad game. Don't we copy movies? music? and also games.(such as Final Fantasy)
It's just a different take on the same game play that's all. And there are packages coming out that might make it slightly better then GoW to begin with. Try playing through it on Hellish. <_<
I'm dreading the hardest difficulty. >_< Odin.Liela said: Gilgamesh.Tousou said: I have to say I rather enjoyed the Divine Comedy. Ohwait... lol! D: That is actually the end of the first part of 3 installments. Inferno, Purgatory, Paradise (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso). The Inferno ends as Dante and Virgil complete their journey passing Lucifer through the center of hell and embarking on the road ahead through purgatory. This is a good wiki on Satan as Dante wants him. /nerd off sorry for the thread hi-jack XD Now this makes me want to read the original books. Such awesome lore :3
Oh, you are right Jimmyjazz, it's only the end of the first part. I am a loser and only read the first of the three because Inferno sounded so much more fascinating to me than Paradiso. /blush
I have a friend in my LS who was playing this game and was not aware that it was a book, so he checked it out from the library and started to read it. He realized pretty quickly that the game was "loosely based" on the book. As a literature buff, I had to laugh.
