Relying on Hagun runs to fund anything in not realistic unfortunatly.
I have been duoing it on MNK with a RDM friend for almost a year now and we have only seen 3 Haguns (one each we kept for our SAMs) and 3 Foragers (same deal kept 2 of them).
Now I realize if we had sold those 4 items, yes that would be plausible to buy the items, but if you want to buy the items in a timly manner, this is not the way to do it.
Depending on it, definitely not, but doing it > not doing it. It takes 1hr, only need to do it once a week. There's no reason not to.
Seriously I outright bought my Novio's earring with about a months worth of fishing. Like real fishing not manta's. Still managed to lvl a bit and farm tabs /wrist so I could still do an uncapped FOVNM each day. Pretty sure that costed more than BB items would. 15mil btw
Hell everytime I get 60 seals I go and solo Up in arms. Yeah it's all or nothing and I'm like 0/30. But ya know what I've made almost 2mil in npcables/ just the money dropped and if I ever did get the drop. Ok I might not sell it but still. KSNMs drop K ore fairly frequently. Royal ramble has a garunteed O ingot drop. Copycat is just about as good but alot easier. Get into an ls that sells stuff. Like namis. Used to get a good mil or so a month just for showing up most the time from selling and splitting the currency. Used to sell homam for decent amount. Hell you can go up to sky if it's been empty and make a few hundred thousand in a hour or 2.
I should lv up a job for up in arms. I'm sittin on 1.2k seals atm.
I'm pretty comfy on money though. Aside from a few HIGH price things (hachiryu legs, relic, ect) I have all my buyables, which is why I don't farm anymore, as all I use food on is gil.
Though if I could get a kraken, I'd prolly pull my stage 3 out and try to finish it up.
{secret} Ok rdm/sch. Pretty easy. I've gotten under 9 min before without meds/food. Mp never really is that big of an issue with convert super efficieny and sleeps. My taru hp however makes it kinda scary at times. Tentacle has 1 hit me from full hp before even with proc and phalanx lol
I used to try blm but couldn't keep it slept long enough and well not enough mp really. Not without meds or something
I can almost solo Trial and tribulations on rdm. I get it to like 30% with just dots and blood tanking before I run out of mp. If drain or enspell dmg actually did much to the mob it would be easy. Or I had a little extra curing. Or I guess meds.
BLU and SMN can solo Sheep in Antlion's Clothing also.
As well as drg and sam
and MNK
Solo? I don't think it's impossible, but I do believe it's far from practical.
I went to duo it once and my friend forgot his filter and I basically got realllly *** lucky w/ counters (I had like 10 in a row) and even then I only made it go down twice. Died before making it go down the third time.

I'd never thought of using HP gear to eat the unavoidable first hit. Tried it the other night and it worked great.
I'd like to try it but only if my static partner was MIA, I spend enough gil on meds and stuff for soloing other ENMs and such

ah, makes more sense then. I went pretty much w/ just my chakra set.
Though, I always start off w/ an HP set.
I'll give it a shot when I get my power back. Need to get lucky on counters though, as it takes shadows down pretty quickly. (I usually go mnk/war + whm, so I was on /war when my friend couldn't get in)
