As is tradition, I am making a thread for FFVII trailers and discussion leading up to the release. The first trailer just dropped at Summer Games Fest, so here it is (finally)!

Gameplay Introduction - English

Woohoo! How long until the resident haters arrive so we can slap them down!

So exciting, I am sure it will be fun just like rebirth was. All the additions seem great, altho I don't care for the outfit changes for jobs. I hope we can keep the original looks or change the outfits somehow without job changing. I kind of wish we could summon whenever we want like the original, but I am sure they have tons of fun stuff in store. The jumping from the airship to the ground is such a cool feature. So many people hated on it and said it wouldnt be open world like the original. While I'm sure there are limitations it will be nice.

Motivation to finish Rebirth now, I don't have strong feelings either way about the changes from OG FF7 but do want to see the new ones to conclusion.

Oh except no *** Chadley. Seriously, *** that kid.

Oh so you still have it to play through it twice. Once on normal and then it completely changes on hard mode. Like you have to play different or you dead.

Hot take but I played on easy because I don't really like the combat system nor the world intel stuff. Just story nostalgia for me really.

Vincent and Cid look great, looking forward to using them in battle. I'm sure we will be able to customize all of their costumes.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the FFVII Remake trilogy, is officially scheduled to launch simultaneously on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.

That's what I am talking about SE - Release it all at once... This has to be the nicest thing I said about SE this year...

I'm not one to get excited for new games coming out as usually my cynicism and skepticism is in charge of my emotions. But not this time, I cannot *** wait for this. Easily the most giddy I've felt in years, if not my entire life. I had even planned on doing another Rebirth playthrough before part 3 comes out, and implementing my own job system, and now we see they're adding a job system to part 3! I'm betting this is how they replace the auto-weapon skill and auto-unique materia, by adjusting the logic of the character based on their job.

So glad I built my current PC essentially at the 11th hour before data centres spiked the price of all computer parts.

Gonna throw my ps5 in the trash now.

The job system reveal was such a curveball. I'm neutral to it at this point.

Ugh… Evercold releases in January. By spring we will be right into the thick of 8.X, that’s going to be interesting to juggle. -.-

You and me both. I liked the world and didn't hate the story changes, but the combat just got bleh after a while for me.

Well, watching gameplays is a cheap option.

so.. not for ps4?

When the remake was first announced that it would be broken up into three 'different games', i thought that was pretty stupid. But that aside.. if the third installation is not to be released for ps4 then essentially we now have a single game that cant be finished on its original system release.
I think back to when i was first playing ff7 on ps1 as a kid. And imagine how id feel if i finished disk 2 and the game said 'please insert disk 3' ... /inserts disk 3 ... 'Please upgrade your ps1 to ps2 to continue playing this game.' ...
