24th Anniversary AMAN Live (May 16th, 2026) POLL
I don't know what I'm supposed to take away from this?
New Limbus weapons in June? They're showing us details because they'll probably be like Rostam+9 or Stratagem+1 or something to adjust the meta slightly? ...OK, so...the stream is over and I hate myself? :/ Asura.Eiryl said: » Good enough to level. Why should they care if you then spend more money on it or not. A sale is a sale. I imagine the limbus weapons will also use murky/alabaster matters and units to upgrade.

This was kind of just providing updates to things we mostly already knew about. Really wish they'd think about how they word things so people don't expect something bigger only to be disappointed Just woke up, can someone give me the quick rundown on what the new expansion is, the new jobs, the new region, etc? Thanks!
Time mage. Far east continent. Ff14 is discontinued, everyone's subs auto-migrated to XI.
Quote: Square Enix Unveils Final Fantasy XI’s Next Major Expansion: “Veil of Eternity” – Launching Spring 2027 Tokyo, Japan – May 15, 2026 – Square Enix is thrilled to announce Final Fantasy XI: Veil of Eternity, a brand-new expansion for the legendary MMORPG Final Fantasy XI (FFXI). Set to release in Spring 2027, this expansion continues the epic saga of Vana’diel more than two decades after the game’s original launch, bringing fresh storytelling, breathtaking environments, and powerful new gameplay systems to adventurers old and new. “Veil of Eternity represents not just the next chapter, but a new era for FFXI,” said Producer Akihiko Matsui. “We’ve listened to the passionate community and crafted an expansion that honors the game’s deep roots while delivering the scale, wonder, and challenge players have been craving. Whether you’re a veteran returning after years or a newer player, there’s never been a better time to step back into Vana’diel.” New Continent: The Shattered Veil Players will journey beyond the known world to the newly revealed continent of Aetherion, a land where the boundaries between realities have begun to fray. Key new areas include: The Luminar Highlands – Vast floating islands suspended in shimmering skies, connected by ancient crystal bridges. Home to soaring wyverns and gravity-defying ruins. The Obsidian Depths – A sprawling underground realm of molten crystal and shadow, filled with treacherous caverns and forgotten machineries of the Ancients. Elyria’s Cradle – A primordial forest where time flows unpredictably, featuring bioluminescent flora, temporal anomalies, and massive living ecosystems. The Veil Fracture – A chaotic endgame zone where multiple realities overlap, offering dynamic weather, shifting terrain, and high-level instanced content. Three New Jobs Veil of Eternity introduces three entirely new jobs, each with unique playstyles and signature abilities: Chronomancer (Mage): Masters of time manipulation. Slow enemies, accelerate ally cooldowns, create temporal bubbles for damage immunity, and unleash devastating “Time Crash” area attacks. Voidreaver (Melee/DPS-Tank hybrid): Wields dark aetherial blades drawn from the rift itself. Excels at stealing enemy strength and temporarily phasing through attacks. Aetherweaver (Support/Healer): A versatile fabricator of magical constructs. Deploys healing turrets, temporary barriers, and powerful elemental golems that fight alongside the party. All new jobs will be available from level 1 after completing a signature questline and will feature extensive Artifact, Relic, and Mythic weapon progression. New Monsters and Enemies The expansion brings over 200 new monster types, including: Riftborn Behemoths – Massive, reality-warping variants of classic Behemoths with multiple phases and environmental attacks. Ethereal Sprites – Swarming, hard-to-pin-down foes that split and recombine when damaged. Chronoweavers – Spider-like guardians of time that can rewind player actions in battle. Colossal Titan remnants – Ancient mechanical guardians awakened in the Obsidian Depths. The Worldveiler – A new legendary Notorious Monster and raid boss said to sit at the heart of the Veil Fracture, commanding an army of fractured duplicates from alternate timelines. New high-difficulty content includes updated Assault missions, new Einherjar-style battlefields, and a brand-new 18-player ultimate raid series: The Eternity Lattice. Additional features include quality-of-life improvements, expanded Trust system support for all new jobs and areas, fresh music by composer Naoshi Mizuta, and cross-world linkage enhancements. Final Fantasy XI: Veil of Eternity will be available as a digital download for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with full controller support and continued compatibility for existing accounts.
