I'd like to introduce TrueTargetLock, a simple addon that solves FFXI's annoying target lock system.
What does it do?
TrueTargetLock automatically keeps your character facing your current target while you are engaged in combat and target lock is enabled.
This prevents common melee issues where auto-retarget selects a new monster but your character is not facing it, resulting in "not facing the target" messages and lost attacks. Similarly, it allows you to actually attack your target during a large pull when everything is running around (see showcase below for an example).
What DOESN'T it do?
- Does not auto-target monsters
- Does not move your character
--> Version 1.1 has now added a toggle to have it always face your target if you're engaged.
How do I use it?
- load it and it starts working.
******
--> Version 1.1 You now have the option to have your character always face your target even if you are not locked on via the following commands:
| //truetargetlock normal | - default - Turns your character only when Target Lock (*) is ON. - Matches traditional FFXI behaviour |
|
| //truetargetlock always | ---------------------------------------------- - Always turns you toward your target while engaged - Works even if Target Lock is OFF **Note: It will not allow you to face away from your target while you're engaged (while standing still) |
Does it conflict with other stuff?
This addon does not conflict with any native windower addons. It will override any other addons that turn your character.
