I got a Malignance box in mine today (not a rainbow box)

EDIT: JP midnight just passed and i opened my rainbows

Just opened 9 alt characters 10th box and got 9/9 impish boxes.

Seems like a big troll to have those awesome rewards available for newer player but then screw them with impish boxes :(

8/10 impish boxes. 1 escha cape. 1 Morimar decanter. I had better luck without the rainbow.


6 of those mules have zero htbf gear on them. 5 more will have rainbow tomorrow for more impish boxes.

My first FES key gave a regal necklace. This makes me think these FES Keys are more like #ANV keys. Also, another impish box.

Part of me thinks the Impish Box reward is set too high...anyone feel like opening a bug report to see if it gets put as "Working as intended"?

Impish Box is clearly the fallback reward when you get an item you already have, which falls back to Silver Voucher if you have an Impish Box.

Its also possible SE coded a fallback that it wont offer a reward if you dont have access to the content available? ie: If you dont have access to Odin Prime HTMB, you wont get Odin Prime loot and instead it will revert to Impish Box.

Edit: Let's try starting by seeking out a way to disprove our assumption. Since my mule is a level 1 MNK, it doesn't have access to the HTBF from Alexander that drops the Sacro Breastplate. Yet, here we are, it definitely came from FES Gobbie Key and not the 10th rainbow chest.

I don't think the Impish box is automatically a fallback, because my mules don't have anything. However, it is still appearing way, WAY too high for this event. I think something got mixed up in translation on SE's side. I think that FES Gobbie Keys may have increased HTBF drops/payout compared to SP Gobbie Keys or 50 daily tally ...and that SE wasn't explicitly meaning to say they Rainbow chest is where they come from?

Anyone here able to parse the JP annoucement?

I'm really leaning towards: FES Gobbie Keys are ANV Keys with an increased chance towards HTBF drops ..and the 10th/Rainbow chest is mostly an impish box but can also be anything else :/

Yeah, Null loop (HTBF) from FES key and Impish Box from Rainbow. I think we got a bad translation, boys.

I'm trying to say that I think SE messed up the translation. I think the increased chance of HTBF gear comes from FES Gobbie Keys individually, and the Rainbow chest is simply an extra bonus.

Most valuable thing I got was a light cluster, until I got an Impish Box today. Obviously I got the non-sendable Impish Box on a lv1 mule that has never left town, sooooo garbage.

Saving up 10 keys now to get a rainbow chest and hopefully get something out of it.

Seems like they wiped out the non-HTBF drops from the rainbow chest, replaced them with Impish Box (silver voucher fallback), and probably changed the relative rate.

I haven't seen anyone get one of the "good" HTBF drops from this like Null Masque or Crepuscular Cloak, though. Malignance Box is maybe the best yet? lol

This is just cruel ...a Kin's Scale isn't even delivery-boxable on the same account. What's a Level 1 character going to do with this? :/

Got 9/17 Impish Boxes. Last rainbow I got was Sacro gorget.

Best thing I got was Gere ring on a non rainbow.

This is such crap. One of my FES Keys gave me an Impish box, so the resulting rainbow was a Silver voucher.

It seems like it would have been better if they didn't add a rainbow chest for the 10th roll. All these impish boxes that cannot be POL sent is such a waste, at least I can sell a scroll or ingredient for 5000 gil.

I asked santa for a Sacro Bulwark. About as hard to get as a crep cloak for me. Got the Impish box instead :(
