Job Adjustments - what would you do?
Thinking about more changes that could be done to help out BST, NIN, and shake up the meta a little perhaps...
For BST I was thinking it'd be cool if the summoned Jug Pets' job traits were loaded onto the Beastmaster. Got a THF pet with Triple Attack? Got a WAR pet? Well, the BST has those traits now, too. Kind of in the vein of how BLU gets to set any traits it wants, BST should get its pets traits. Now that's a Beast Affinity! Yes, at full level 99 potency, as well! A long time ago Daggers had really low damage. Like iirc Mandau when 75 cap was fresh wasn't even 30 base? I could be wrong on that, but it was lower. THey adjusted the dagger weapon type itself, such that all daggers received higher base damage than before. I think they should do this again, but for Katanas. Raise them up to truly be just below Swords. I'm talkin' give Dokoku a raise to like 175 base damage. They should adjust a lot of SPs, mostly just make them longer duration (The lowering to 45 mins is great, but I think we deserve more, maybe give these increased durations at ML50). A lot of them aren't nearly as impactful as they used to be, and this wouldn't even have to be that big of a thing but like... Triple the duration on Hundred Fists, Quadruple Inner Strength's. Give charges to Benediction. A second use of Benediction would be the ***. Double Asylum's duration. Double Chainpsell duration and give a charge to Stymie. Double Manafont duration, Double duration of Subtle Sorc Double duration increase to Mighty Strikes, triple Brazen Rush's duration Triple Perfect Dodge duration, add a charge to Larceny/allow Larceny to steal SP2s. Add a Charge to Eagle Eye Shot. Double Overkill's duration (and make it instantly max Hovershot stacks). Make Soul Voice songs have NITRO 5/5 embedded. Clarion Call songs undispellable. Double Spirit Surge duration, Quintuple Fly High's duration. Double Blood Weapon's duration, and force a Penance effect against Undead. Double Soul Enslavement's duration, and force a Penance effect against Undead. Allow TP to accrue as normal during Meikyo Shisui, and Skillchains grant a Tomahawk/Formless Strikes like effect that bypasses skillchain resistance/elemental absorption. Double Yaegasumi's duration. Triple Invincible's duration. Add a charge to Intervene. Familiar triple's pet HP, and now provides increases to accuracy, store TP, and grants a TP bonus to Ready/Sic. Double Unleash's duration. Astral Flow no longer consumed by Alexander/Odin. Double Astral Conduit's duration. Bolster duration doubled. Widened Compass tripled. Wild Card given an extra charge. Cutting Cards given an extra charge. Double duration of Elemental Sforzo. Double debuff duration of Odyllic Subterfuge. Double Duration of Trance and Grand Pas. Duration of Tabula Rasa doubled. Caper Emissarius gains a charge. Mijin Gakure deals maximum damage (repeat use from multiple ninjas sees dramatically reduced damage, the Mijin Wall). Triple Mikage's duration, and simplify the effect to be: Number of Shadows you have = number of multi-attacks added to your attack round, until attacks per round cap is hit. Azure Lore duration tripled, quadruples physical spell damage and causes spells to not give TP to enemy. Doubles magical spell damage. Unbridled Wisdom duration tripled. Overdrive duration doubled. Heady Artifice gains a charge. :) Ninja
Stop the blinking when removing shurikens, without relying on dressup app. Ninja need to be back as Shadow/evasive tank which was coolest thing ever in 75 era. Ninja as solo job is not fair for it legacy. In this case, I don't think I'm ok with monsters getting triple duration hundred fists, perfect dodge, and invincible, nor double duration chainspell or mighty strikes. My issue with the duration of certain SPs is that in some cases, it just doesn't make any sense.
Soul Enslavement is 30 seconds Yaegesumi 45 seconds Mikage 45 seconds Azure Lore 40 seconds* (and this SP is pretty bad) Overkill 60 seconds Inner Strength 30 seconds (literally near-useless besides a last-ditch Chakra/Guard survival SP). Some are fine, some just don't last long enough, but there's no real consistency between how useful the SP is and how long it lasts. A mob doesn't have to get the same increase.
~18 of the 22 Sp2 mobs don't get at all. Only exceptions being brazen, yaeg intervene and larceny And even those are exclusive to Ark Angels (Like 4 mobs get yaegesumi) If you think SE is going to buff the players to that degree and not apply that to mobs, I have a bridge to sell you. I can see the dev response right now
"Greetings! Regarding increasing the duration of Special Abilities for players, if we were to make this change, we would have to also adjust the duration of these abilities on notorious monsters as well." Enemy DRG 2 hour is still call wyvern, so. It's not automatic.

Each job gets a job-specific crystal that can be equipped in main hand when activating their SP1 to double/triple (depending) the duration thereof. The crystal can be further reforged to also double/triple (depending) the duration of their SP2. Making the crystal requires a job-specific quest that is twice the total effort/gametime of making an escutcheon. Please look forward to itTM. Make staff usable as a melee weapon please.

You Switch to Crystal to get 3000 tp and you have twice the time of not being able to use it :D All weapons can be socketed
Theyre bringing back the evolith system Kill Bumba v25 for a chance at a random socket with a wide variety of augments, including SP1 OR SP2 ability delay -1~3

There hasnt ever been any direct 2 hr enhancements has there? Its either an augment piece of equipment or from gifts
Well take that back, azure lore got changed to be slightly less awful They also greatly changed DRG SP1 (completely swapped to another JA) and PUP's SP1 (increased the potency a lot, and tripled the base duration iir?)
Funny that Azure Lore was adjusted and it still sucks lol. I guess it's a byproduct of the fact that BLU physical offensive spells are mostly ***for the purpose of dealing damage (the good ones these days are either for the job traits or for the special effects) Azure Lore is a JA that focuses mostly on boosting them, and if they suck... it sucks boosting them I guess. |
