People can call anything done whenever they call it done. People could call Omen done after they finished a single set of AF to +2, call Sinister Reign done once they got a Rubicundity with any augment, call Dynamis [D] done once they unlocked one job's AF to +3, on into infinity.

People not bothering to finish something doesn't make the content any shorter, it just means that person didn't care to finish it.

V25 Ody takes a while to finish, especially if you do it as designed, which means that the replayability of the content isn't relevant to the vast, vast majority of the player base.

Most people are either grinding it, or have given up grinding it. This leaves a tiny sliver of people who have beaten it and have to worry about whether or not it's worth continuing to do. Quite frankly, most of the people in that situation probably quit already.

Would be pretty cool if SE implemented where you could turn copper vouchers in to segments akin to plasma, imperial standing, etc. Got nothing else to use em on anymore since the weekly sparks cap.

absolut weird argument here:
But turning copper vouches into sparks was not even the most beneficl of voucer to gil ratio. it was just unlimited.
can still tunr thme in for book points which is used for book warps and the points will save you more gill per voucher than plasma gave oyu... just takes a REAAAAAAALLY long time to use the benefit up...

a better one is obsidian for skirmish gear. bard still need skermish gear. WHM and RDM and SCH still needs skirmish gear.
so there is SOME USE.

Just not an easy mode for gil.

I've been hoarding my copper vouchers for a long time and still haven't hit the cap, though I don't bot EP so it might be different depending on how much you play and what you do while playing.

I primarily use copper vouchers for sparks/accolades when I run out (need to do a UNM right after cashing out) or when I haven't earned my 100k for the week. I also use them for Obs fragments because there are a lot of augments and they can be a *** to get. They're also good for the resistance credits if you didn't make a bunch of them back when that was (barely) relevant content.

IDK though, complaining about a currency that's free and extremely versatile (copper voucher) not being versatile enough is a bit extra, IMO.

Segs are fine too. If you're doing bosses or RP then you're far past the point where getting segments is difficult. Even in a basic group with 3-6 characters and some trusts, you'll get enough segs for 1 or 2 boss attempts per day. Efficient groups can get up for 4 boss attempts per run.

If you're soloing segs (WHY?!) then sure, it will suck, but that's kind of the nature of the beast. MMORPG endgame events aren't (shouldn't be, IMO) scaled to make the solo experience easy, efficient, and fast. You're supposed to play the game with other people. Should you choose to play solo, you're gonna get shittier rewards and it's going to be slow and painful.

Eh...I'm not opposed to them adding dominion notes to this, but I don't agree that SE needs to give ways for people to get items from content without doing that content. Especially when the requirements are so low. A dominion op is 5 enemies of a single type. You could do that in under 10 seconds with certain jobs, and it's automatically repeated, though you do have to turn it in each time.

I can't imagine it would take more than 2 minutes to complete a dominion op, which (worst case) you need to do 5 of to get a piece of armor.

Other than the (limited) KIs you can get from deeds, you can't get AF or relic without doing their original content either...

The cap is sadly pretty low, 999.
I've had to "spend" copper voucher soooo many times because the NPC couldn't hold more :-(

If you do sheol A/B every other day, even solo/lowman, you'll have more segs than you can use by the end of the month.

If you're always doing pickup groups and only sheol C and always want to get 8k+ because you only do it once a month.. you're going to have a bad time.

Majority of my segs are from farming A/B for scales and hides. The incentives are there, a good amount of segs plus materials for upgrading or gil if you sell them.

Sheol is not just C.

I think you underestimate how lousy solo segs are. Even if there is enough room for improvement to make double of what I average it'd still be slow.

its a multiplayer game. If you are playing it at solo you are doing it wrong.

its like complaining that a story based single player game does not have a rank ladder and its not competitive enough.

Thats not the game.

We've seen adventuring fellows, trusts, encouragement of multiboxing and less alliance content. You can, and most of the time are forced to, solo more content than you'll do party play. The largest chunk of FFXI is in fact solo play.

Thats a choice you make
You dont get to cry about inefficiency when 6 people can accomplish more than 1 person with + 5 trusts that cant have their AI modified (enjoy your Ballads from Ulmia and Qultada interrupting your SC with a 40 dmg burning blade)

No one is asking for solo==party segments. Odyssey doesn't just allow trusts, it even has a specific trust mechanic unique to the content, solo play is definitely intended.

Look, If you can cry about snails eating your salad I can cry about inefficiency of solo segs. all. day. long.

To be fair, the survey was quite limited on answers to that question. I don't remember the exact phrasing, but it was along the lines of having to choose between almost always playing solo or almost always playing in groups. There wasn't a choice for anything in between, like a more balanced approach of people who might meet up for some group content, but also play some significant amount of the time solo.

That would be me: I have a couple nights a week for scheduled group events, occasional additional scheduled things, and then just random partying up with LS mates. But I also do a lot of solo stuff. And TBH, I think the solo aspect needs more developer tuning, so I answered that I played more solo to show that I value them paying attention to giving players to ability to do content solo and make reasonable progress.

On the survey can't remember where you got to comment about content
For odyssey gaol mine was alliance content would have been alright

1st Party > NM
2nd Party > ADD
3rd Party > ADD

Alliance sortie

1st Party > NM's
2nd Party > Objectives
3rd Party > Exemplar Points

New Trusts > Version III

I think Ody is mostly fine, but being gated by segs at the beginning, when you are the worst you will ever be at seg farming and don't even have all your R0 gear unlocked, is pretty brutal. Sheol needs repeatable RoE objectives to help new players get started.

Daily:
Kill 10 Nostos monsters in Sheol A/B/C, rewards 1 Moglophone II.
Open 2 Chests or Coffers in Sheol, rewards 1 Moogle Amplifier.
Weekly:
Kill 10 Agon Beastmen, rewards 5k segments.
Monthly:
Kill 10 summoned notorious monsters in Sheol, rewards a voucher for 1k RP on an NM of your choice.

Alternatively they could add a separate entry to Gaol that allows one single fight and gives no RP on any difficulty, but only removes the KI if you win. Could make it a new daily KI if they're still worried about congestion.

I know we're never getting muffins on that list, but it'd be neat if they at least added tokens and ichor.

And TBH, I think the solo aspect needs more developer tuning, so I answered that I played more solo to show that I value them paying attention to giving players to ability to do content solo and make reasonable progress.

This is why I started to feel the survey was set up in bad faith, as if they already had plans on where they wanted to go, but wanted to give the illusion the player's playstyles had a large impact on the direction of the content and adjustments moving forward. I get that they don't have a dedicated staff that has time to read all of the individual player feedback and "in betweens". They set up the choices in buckets where you could only pick pretty much SOLO or GROUP. For most people who only join up for groups for Odyssey/Sortie/Ambuscade (like myself), I would pick "mostly solo", because the majority of the time I'm online I am doing little things here and there by myself. If I have to farm something, quest something, kill something, whatever, if I can solo it, I will. That makes me select the box for "solo", but I'm far from a 100% solo player.

I'd argue there's thousands of players like me who don't just log on to do stuff with friends, but 75% of their game time is spent doing solo activities. They probably answered "i play solo" too. So the results of that survey as far as that question goes is incredibly misleading. It's impossible to make progress in this game solo (unless people saying solo are actually multiboxers, which is also misleading).

So your argument for person that can't get a Sheol C group is to sit in their mog house with thumb firmly up behind because soloing/low-manning A/B is not multiplayer enough?

Yeah, real smart that.

Also ignores the fact that outside Asura - yes I know this is an Asura post - the option to group up does not even exist.

What do you call a massively multiplayer game without a massive population again?
