EDIT: DON'T BREAK MIRRORS AND TURN THEM IN

I know they say they lower the defense of the beastman strongholds when captured but does it affect the time it takes for a Besieged to gather?

Mostly would like to know if there is anything I could be doing or SHOULDN'T be doing in order to make this pop out sooner.

I can see all my forces at level 0 and my orders are to Invade Enemy Bases. And they list the troops and archaic mirrors they have.

according to here the reduction of enemy advancement occures when you trade a archaic mirror to a sanction NPC. I assume you can kill mirror NMs without having any effect on besieged timer as long as you don't trade the drop in.

I can already see trolls writing bots for unlimited supply of mirrors just so they can

tease the entire server into oblivion.

Killing all the mirrors does increase the time it takes for a besieged force to finish preparing.

You can also influence this by dying over and over in the stronghold while they are preparing,

Just killing a mirror slows them down, but we don't know by how much.

It's never zero, say their prep speed is 1 at 0/8 mirrors, it could be 2x 3x 4x 5x 8x with 8/8 mirrors. It'd take a year to figure it out.

Quote:
The amount of Archaic Mirrors in a particular lair increases the rate of the residents' training.
The more Archaic Mirrors an area has, the faster the Beastmen in that area "level up" for Besieged and progress from "Training" to "Preparing" and finally to "Advancing".

I don't think (m)anyone is actually going out and killing them anyway.

Remember the guy(s) spike flailing DI constantly so that the price of Wyrm Ash stayed up, yes?

Prepare your Aeneas.

Naw. It's very different to cause chaos that has a direct effect.

Stall an HNM. Spike flail a wyrm. Manipulate the AH. Hold instances hostage. You get direct feedback. Their misery. Their annoyance.

You go delay besieged by a day, no one will even notice. No point.

If you 0/8 the mirrors and you're the kind of person that thirst quenches on tears, you'll probably get some shouts or posts to keep that reinforcement. People play for different reasons.

You're assuming they'd stall the besieged for the joy of griefing. I am picturing a situation where there's money to be made off besiged points, and delaying besieged keeps stocks scarce - just like Wyrm Ash and DI. No need for instant gratification for the latter.

Maybe in 2 years when they figure out no one wants these weapons. Then you can worry about it.

That's how long it'll take until they add something of consequence.
