However, there were a lot of interesting mechanical concepts introduced to the game around that time. I believe it was Abyssea that first used aura-effects centered on players and monsters, which in retrospect seems like a playtest for Geomancy. Abyssea was a success for me because it had situations where players would want to coordinate in ways outside of the standard zergs, tank-and-spanks, and SC-MB setups. Sure, those were fantastic ways of defeating monsters, but adding in another layer of complexity by putting extra drops, NM KI upgrades, etc. behind situational conditions often helped make me feel like I was doing more than just waiting on my TP meter to fill up to hit the same button again. How did people not think of it before then? Really? So you mean your Tojil strat existed in the 75 era? You sure about that? When Horizon adds Trials of the Magians, they better add that proper 75-era grind:
Trial 991: Beasts Mercy Stroke x1500 Mercy Stroke killing blow Trial 992: Vermin x1500 Trial 1818: Plantoids x1500 Trial 1819: Birds x2000 None of this pansy weak modern retail era 200/200/300/400 garbage. To be fair idk how they could add anything, I would imagine most people who play on there quit becasue Mythics got released and now my relic is 2nd best, or Empys got released and now my mythic/relic is 2nd/3rd best, delve got released and now my everything is ***.
wouldnt want to piss them off over the same thing again... You can't really make content like release-strength-delve 75-cap friendly without changing considerable amounts of how it works. The lack of fast cast and general pace of gameplay from 75 era is just not compatible with the amount of things needed at the time.
More likely, if anything, they keep the models and animations and completely revamp the stats/procs/mechanics/tp effects to the point that it's visually the same fight, but strategically something else entirely. There's nothing really wrong with it being similar in form but different in function, either. Catseye recently added Domain Invasions and have taken their own spin on it, its still pretty fun and cool. Its still a 75 capped server even though it has content that wasn't available at 75, its just rebalanced or reimagined a bit. Not everything has to be a carbon copy of what retail did to still be fun.
The idea that content can be different enough that you can't just wiki how to beat the entire fight, yet familiar enough to still trigger a bit of nostalgia is pretty cool imo, WoW has sort of figured out that this is an okay model with Season of Discovery, and that seems to be going pretty well for them so far. No, keep that to retail. It's made for merc and bot lovers. Maybe for some, but if your a heavy analysis type that kinda thing would be like buying a knock-off cuz it kinda sorta looks like the thing you actually want. Personally it would just leave me more heart broken, but I can see how some might find a cheap imitation good enough for their purposes. He's also confused about what the current trial requirements are compared to what they originally were, even though what I wrote in my post was pretty clear about what the current and original numbers were.

The model of taking old content and reusing/rehashing it into something different, yet familiar, has a lot of merits and proven successes. Remakes, reboots, remasters, they surround us in every media form. Well considering this is a forum specifically for a private server, perhaps I'm not the one who is lost? I didn't go out of my way to get upset, you did.

Aren't we all just sock accounts? only ever showing a small glimpse of our true selves to anyone. I prefer to exist in the realm of good faith for the most part, I did a lot of mudpit fighting over the last few years and it got boring.
I VPN to Canada just to really sell that sock account ideology.
I really wish I could VPN my physical form to Canada for some delicious authentic poutine.
