Ixion Lore and Proc Attempts

I'm leaning toward aura too based on the account and stuff Ive seen to it. Kinda vibes with the whole "no one accidentally did it" thing.
I guess from a time perspective though, how long did/would killing him with like an aura count or checkpoints required? I could see force horse in n out of aura X times with X hopefully being not a huge number. Id be surprised if they basically held us hostage for more than 2-5 minutes with a metal obj so my guess would be whatever the threshold is, ppl should be able to do it within that time frame.. hopefully >.>
So you think 50K dmg ... of the same type is required to put him into it... and a WS subsequent to that takes him out of it? I feel like there must be some kind of DPS check limit but like the opposite of a dps check. Like kill without breaking 50K possibly. Tho im sure my "nothing but wildfires" or "nothing but AE" woulda done that.
Aura stuff idk about. What does the aura even look like? like how subtle is it? tbh ive never really focused in on it and wanna make sure I can recognize it when i see it lol. I know that probably sounds dumb for anyone who has seen it but literally I cant say ive ever noticed it. Usually im behind horse though. Only been in front of it a couple of times.

It needs more testing, but the fact that he did it around 6 times in a row at 50k, then twice in a row at 30k, twice at 15k then not again isn't a coincidence

I cast Disract a total of 6 times, and Dia twice. Dansel Memento does not drop Dia.
Ixion is the only thing I killed in F, but this was my 5th kill of the night.
I killed him in the hallway near the Nakuul room, where I've fought him many many times before.
I had not entered any other area, but I have been doing this all week long.
It spawned in the first 4 square before you cross the Nakuul Room door, the Blitzer was in that 4 square also, but that is not it as I've done that many times as well.
Can you clarify this? If this was the 5th kill you wouldn't have got 336 gallimaufry.

Not sure about the muffins. You are correct that I shouldn't have gotten that many. It was definitely 5th kill though.
Did not do anything except kill him 5 times, respawn him 4 (popped blue blitzer box after first kill)

I will get as Absolutely detailed as I can.
https://ibb.co/DDdXW7g
Green Dot = Blitzer, Purple Dot = where Ixion spawned, Red Dot = where I killed him
I zoned into Sortie, ran to crystal, warped to B, down to F. Ixion was in Nakuul Room. Pulled and killed (Tried for <3 minutes in F zone, but killed at about 3:35). Respawned him. He spawned in room with blitzer. Pulled to hallway (red dot). Tried to hit him with magic to force Aura, was having issues so I tried Rotating Elements and used all spells stone 1 - Thunder 5 then I killed him quickly. Respawned in Pixie room and tried water damage as only elemental damage, killed relatively quickly. Respawn in Nakuul Room, tried elements until he put up Aura then stuck with bursting that elemental until aura dropped.
Last Respawn: Spawned early Watersday, ~12 minutes left in zone. Rematerialized and watched him pop next to the blitzer. Aggrod him and pulled him to red dot hallway. Had no trusts up for this kill. Tried to take him down with 0 spells but was going too slow so I put up Distract. Did nothing but melee and Savage Blade at 1250, and began to pick up on the 50k intervals. Kept it slow and steady like that until I hit the wrong macro applying Dia III at 64%. Continued the same all the way down, Dia fell off at ~15% and so I put it back on. Reapplied Distract every time he used Dansel Memento. Killed him with a melee swing.
Things that have already been ruled out prior to this run that people might pull from this. Take him near Blitzer, pull by aggro, kill with white damage, kill with only inflicting 1 element of damage, WS during TP moves (Did this often, but I've tested this and its not it), Break horn (doesn't seem to exist so far)

Ok so maybe a prerequisite is getting the 5/5 empy chest first?

I had killed several times since opening the chest. Wore 5/5 empy lockstyle for every kill too. Highly doubt there is any relation

@Cthaeh This wouldn't fit this info about chests from the past, but judging from your successful attempt it can also be kill with magic, then respawn and kill with physical.

I will say we tried again. It is most definitely related to either low damage WSs being repeated or the same WS being repeated. We just went again, and tried with 4 people spamming Savage Blade. He charged and used Aura 8ish times but we killed a little too fast.
I'm 95% sure the condition is force him to use Aura 10 times and then kill. Our WAR was just doing white damage at first and then he started WSing and it died a little too quickly, but we saw him charging almost non stop the entire fight when aura was down.
Another note. Gartell was a joke tonight, with *only me* having the metal. We're not sure if it was the Metal or if we just got lucky but we didn't even break a sweat on him melee method.
WAR also hit a couple for 20k+ and we were trying to keep them under 15k. Not sure what it is, but this is the right path. Force him to use Aura X number of times.
edit: to clarify, this was the first time my group has killed Gartell, we take him to 15% and he wrecks us most of the time.

Could it be damage of one type? Slashing piercing or blunt? Magic? Having mixed types throws it off?

FYI: We're also pretty sure that what I've said before about Gartell is exactly correct.
Thunder Mode: 1st WS will always be Concussive Shock. If you Proc him, it locks him from using Zap for X amount of seconds. Undulating Shockwave triggers a change from Thunder to Wind.
Wind Mode: 1st WS will always be Chokehold, Proc locks Tearing Gust, Shrieking Gale causes change.
*Change can be to same element* - If this happens, his mode just resets. Change occurs ~30 seconds after you proc him.
With Metal on, I did not recieve either slow or gravity when hit with CS/CHd. ***theory*** Based on how Dhartok works with his fart bubbles, I would say Fetters Drop as a reaction to him doing something to you while affected by one of these debuffs.
For those who don't know, you can prevent Dhartok's fart bubbles by immediately removing poison from anyone infected, as they drop in reaction to him using tp moves on poisoned people.

We put that to the test. No enspell damage, no elemental damage, and everyone meleeing had a sword on and only used Savage Blade.
From how fast he was putting up aura, it has something to do with weak weapon skill hits or repeated damage of the same type to an exact amount. Hard to test the 50k thing on parse with 5 people swinging on him.

The way to test it would be, do 50k damage to him with physical only, and then everyone turn but the weakest hitter who can tp him up until he uses either Lightning Spear or Wrath of Zeus. once he uses these, deal 50k more damage and repeat. It's slow as ***, but I think this is how it's gonna get done.

So did you get the chest to drop again with your group? The first time I killed him (with dia 3 para 2 slow 2 distract 3) and 4 CDCs @3k tp ~ 22k damage each, it still took quite some time as I had no trusts and it was all white damage. Second try was just dia 3 and distract 3 and I was spamming savage blade, and it took quite a while. By this time I had like 10 minutes (guestimate) left in zone. I did not count how many times his aura went up tho.

But was the only time you got the chest AFTER you popped blue and only using savage blade under a certain damage threshold?

We did not get the chest tonight, but we were definitely forcing him to put up his aura alot in the fight. I'm pretty sure we just had a little too much WS damage at the end and didnt give him time to go through his stages.

Curious about this part bc the devs definitely said the key to beating gartell at stage 4 was to force him to change around the 66/33 checkpoints. Im still unsure on how to do it on command. Seems like wait for his first tp move, proc him to eliminate the other TP move then he'll do shockwave/gale instead? and to keep him in current mode, you just dont proc him? Guess im still unsure of his proc thing.

So if you do like 50K dmg, that charges the aura initially? so like 91% or whatever he should do it if done right. Im assuming you dont have to melee him down the whole way but perhaps stick to one kind of dmg, i.e. physical. You force him out of aura with a WS? I guess presumably a weak one perhaps? Like in omen when you gotta do 30 ws but you only have 16 mobs or so.. but in this case so you leave him enough HP at the end to go thru his deal lets say 10 times? and it accelerates under 30 and 15?

I did not see any way of forcing him out of his aura. I think you just have to slow down damage until he uses charge and then do another 50k

When I killed him both times in the one run I mentioned before, it was agonizingly slow. I wasn't using any other ws besides CDC on the first attempt as the only ws, and then savage blade on the second. It has me wondering if I more than likely had him charge up at least 10 times over that amount of time. I wasn't using anything that stunned him i.e. flat blade. It was just white damage and the 22k ish CDCs (first attempt) and the 15k ish savage blades (with the one slightly over 20k) on the second after rematerializing.
The practicality of killing this thing for the metal if it takes even longer to get him to 'charge' enough times doesn't make sense if this is in fact the mechanic. Unless I'm missing something? I will count the charges tonight when I can re-enter. I'll follow the conditions you got your chest in (I'll make sure my WSs don't do over like 15k or something).

did nothing but melee Savage Blade at 1250 and cure myself.
You mentioned no tp bonus offhand. On the chest drop mob, did you definitely ws only @ 1250? For example, no ws over 2000 tp. May trigger based on tp of ws used.

Aimed for 1250, might have hit one or two around 1450, definitely none above 1500.

idk Youre gonna have to be specific in what all this aura stuff is bc im not seeing it. Is the aura when his horn goes all lightning like? then it has a haze around it for a bit... but honestly with melee hits and battle effects its really hard to tell when it goes away half the time. And its not behaving at all for me the way you have it. I think I got it to to the lightning horn non tp move thing like 5 times once but if/when/how that went away it didnt appear to be any kind of WS and I never once saw like 30k 50k later it just do it again. But I have to WS between those things. Im a COR. If I cant WS it through those checkpoints, its never on the table. Cant be expected to take 10 minutes killing it.
I need more details on what starts the aura, what it looks like, what drops it, what it looks like after it drops cuz Im not seeing it at all. Killed it three times and its maybe done the aura thing (lightning horn) like 8 times. It kinda has a glow but a ws isnt taking that off.... and all the battle effects going off, its honestly hard for me to say when its gone.

and august like every hit is doing fake WS stuff lol. But yeah even after banishing them both after my first kill, it took me a while to kinda see much on the 2nd. I got him to charge his horn up 5 times but I couldn't ID any rhyme or reason for it.
Could it be something a bit simpler and not as time consuming or obnoxious as just kill asap after a horn charge? I imagine someone would have accidentally done that though.

as to the Aura. When his horn flashes with lightning, you will see purple red and black orbs rising around him. That's the aura

kk ill try that tomorrow. I misunderstood the assignment :P
I had a revelation last night. What if Ixion from historical greek mythology has the actual hint/ answer to proccing Ixion? See below post copy and pasted from wikipedia and my guesses at possible Ixion proc:
Ixion married Dia,[1] a daughter of Deioneus (or Eioneus), and promised his father-in-law a valuable present. However, he did not pay the bride price, so Deioneus stole [2] some of Ixion's horses in retaliation. Ixion concealed his resentment and invited his father-in-law to a feast at Larissa. When Deioneus arrived, Ixion pushed him into a bed of burning coals and wood [3]. These circumstances are secondary to the fact of Ixion's primordial act of murder; it could be accounted for quite differently: in the Greek Anthology (iii.12), among a collection of inscriptions from a temple in Cyzicus, is an epigrammatic description of Ixion slaying Phorbas and Polymelos, who had slain his mother, Megara, the "great one".
Ixion went mad, defiled by his act; the neighboring princes were so offended by this act of treachery and violation of xenia that they refused to perform the rituals that would cleanse Ixion of his guilt (see catharsis)[4]. Thereafter, Ixion lived as an outlaw and was shunned. By killing his father-in-law, Ixion was reckoned the first man guilty of kin-slaying in Greek mythology.
This act alone would warrant Ixion a terrible punishment, but Zeus took pity on Ixion and brought him to Olympus and introduced him at the table of the gods. Instead of being grateful, Ixion grew lustful for Hera, Zeus's wife, a further violation of guest–host relations. Zeus found out about his intentions and made a cloud in the shape of Hera, which became known as Nephele (from nephos "cloud") and tricked Ixion into coupling with it. From the union of Ixion and the false-Hera cloud came Imbros or Centauros, who mated with the Magnesian mares on Mount Pelion, Pindar told, engendering the race of Centaurs, who are called the Ixionidae from their descent.
Ixion was expelled from Olympus and blasted with a thunderbolt [5]. Zeus ordered Hermes to bind Ixion to a winged fiery wheel [6] [7] that was always spinning. Therefore, Ixion was bound to a burning solar wheel for all eternity, at first spinning across the heavens, but in later myth transferred to Tartarus [8]. Only when Orpheus [9] played his lyre during his trip to the Underworld to rescue Eurydice did it stop for a while [10][11].
[1] Cast Dia on Ixion (Dia 1? Dia 2? Light Shot?)
[2] Steal, Mug, or Despoil the Horse?
[3] Craft near Ixion... so he can be pushed in?
[4] Cast onto Ixion, Cure, Erase, Viruna, Esuna, Holy, Holy II?
[5] Have a BLU use Thunderbolt (Learned from behemoth) on Ixion
[6] Cast the elemental wheel in order on Ixion starting with Fire (Fire > Water > Thunder > Earth > Wind > Ice)
[7] Cast the elemental wheel in order on Ixion ending with Fire
(Water > Thunder > Earth > Wind > Ice > Fire)
[8] Cast Banish on Ixion to banish him to Tartarus...
[9] Equip an Orpheus Sash While playing a harp song near Ixion
[10] Sing a song while engaged on Ixion using a harp
[11] Sing a song debuff on Ixion using a harp
Please let one of the above memes actually be the answer.
Happy (proc) hunting
