Pools closed (Asura is full!)
Oh! That was absolutely not my impression. All right then. Time to figure out if I'm following the crowd to Phoenix or not once and for all.

I do believe that people trying to get into XI out of curiosity in 2026 are going to look up some third party information on places like here or (more likely) the subreddit or Discords, where the narrative for about the past month or two was indeed "go to Phoenix". I imagine the situation was that Phoenix gained that early lead before any big new player influx, just enough of one to make it the default suggestion for people wanting the next Bahamut/Odin. I feel like they could do dynamic server locking. Have it adjust during weekly tally. If whatever metric is met, lock it down for the week.
Keeping servers locked for months or years at a time like they did in 2008 seems *** stupid. Also somewhat relevant: People on Reddit are, at large, *** stupid. Them telling every random newbie to join Asura for years is moronic and benefits no one in the end. Felgarr said: » I've also noticed some very bizarre problems with eventual-consistency on Asura. I've invited someone into a party and that new member never shows up in the party list, for everyone in the party. Some party members show 5 members, Some party members see 6 members. |
