I'm fiddling around with an old laptop that has dedicated graphics. I've installed Windows XP (32Bit). Yes, I know it's insecure.

Windower doesn't start after installation, it crashes right away. FFXI runs fine. Is XP still supported? Am I missing something?

Officially no, we dropped XP support when Github.com started requiring newer standards than XP has built in support for secure connections.

We also since started requiring https on the windower server too for updating.

Edit: Also SE dropped official support for XP too.

Thank you. The new installer for FFXI wont run on XP either, but obviously the old still does. It's still fun to see how well the game runs on a 13 year old laptop.

It might still work but yeah, the OS is no longer supported. No support = you're on your own.
