FFXI would never fit well in a small cellphone window.
Plus, none can afford 5 years waiting.
I play on my phone all the time. It fits fine.

Devs have been moved from most SquareEnix projects to focus on their new whale: Pony Friends 3 MMO! Asura.Aeonova said: » Pony Friends 3 MMO ***if the train simulator is any indication...
Quote: Train Simulator will let you rule the railways for $1. It will cost a bit more to get all 569 add-ons. Train Simulator 2020, the latest version of Dovetail's 2009 railway romp, has a lot of DLC. 569 items are listed on Steam, amounting to an eye-watering $10,145 They could sell 569 different ponies and "trails" easily. Tracking the evolution of ffxiah threads is something that belongs in the studies of a Quantum Physics department. I literally think just observing a thread completely changes the direction and spin just like observing elemental particles.

They canceled FFXI mobile in lieu of FFXI 2.0! They are going to do to FFXI what they did to FFXIV 1.0 back in the day!! A full re-hash!

When it fills up, the gods throw a dart at a board, and send a wild hair up the *** of one of the usual miscreants, and now the thread is about how Ubisoft is running underground bear-fighting rings with the Assassin's Creed profits, and that's why AAA games are so expensive now. I played it on my phone via team viewer. Playability on the phone is not the question. I Bluetooth’d a controller to my phone, made it the input and went from there. Also I saw in the past, people installing FFXI on windows based phone and tablets.

I still find it hilarious that "quality" is the "sited reason".
The balls on them to claim that when they show their *** on XI the way they do. I mean sure, quality of how it's made and quality of how it's run are different. It's still incredibly disingenuous. Offline

it was never going to be "ffxi, but on your phone"
all the early concept shots showed your standard gacha elements. energy, premium currency, etc. my guess is that the scope wasn't feasible and they gave up sinking money into it. it definitely wasn't because "it wasn't up to our fan's standards", lol. makes them look better on press release to pretend they did this for fans tho I for one am glad this project is cancelled. Having peaked at a few of their other remakes this would have been an insult.
That being said... a think tank of users and developers on how to make cloud/remote phone play more friendly would be awesome. Generally speaking I would agree with the "quality" excuse being BS, but not in this case. Yoshida runs that division now, and he knows firsthand what a bad entry in the series does to the brand. He's also spent the last decade-ish of his life FIXING that brand. He was never going to let them Nexon it up.
The second he got veto power over this thing, it was DOA. I called it two years ago! |
