How about you? Extinction.
Extinction sounds good. Leviathan.Celebrindal

at least Intermission followed by a change of plot direction in Act II.
Intermission would be the extinction.
Act II would be whatever comes out of it. Maybe the next set of intelligent life will come from deer instead of monkeys. Leviathan.Celebrindal

If that's the case I think the development of the automobile will be seen as too risky a threat to life and will never happen. I only say deer because, like monkeys, they don't contribute much to the general ecosystem outside of what we generally contribute, which is population control of other species.
We just have a larger influence than other mammals. Better deer than lizards. Nobody wants to see the earth populated by lizardpeople. Leviathan.Celebrindal

I'm moderately against human extinction at this moment in history.
If 1000 years from now our planet were to be discovered by another intelligent life form, I shudder to think what the archaeological record would tell of us. I was dreaming the other night. I was talking to a fine woman. When I was about to mount her, some guy called me on the phone. I am hoping his balls will fall off this year.

I seriously doubt Rooks would appreciate anyone suggesting suicide. I rather not this thread get locked. Let's start the Final episode of the trilogy.
World War III. Hoping for a Christmas release. Then '21 can really kick it off w/ global blackout of communication. '22 after our supply chains have been exhausted and there's starvation all over the globe, Yellowstone erupts covering much of the world in ash, sealing our fate. Pandemonium.Zeto

While I'm not at liberty to disclose what's going to happen in the next 2 years...
For any of you humans that survive, I'll bake you guys cupcakes. :) Chimerawizard said: » World War III. Hoping for a Christmas release. Sure, the Iranian nuclear scientist assassination occurred, but Iran has neither the balls nor the wherewithal to launch any sort of meaningful attack before the end of the year. Only nation that has any capacity to make any sort of attack that would start WWIII would be China, and even then, it doesn't look like it. It would go against their advantage to start a war now. Edit: Most as in roughly 50% of the land mass. In theory, yes.
It took more than 1 volcano to do it in the past, however. Even larger, more active volcanoes who erupt do not do as much damage to the world as you say though. But lets face it, volcano eruptions happen, more often than you think, and some eruptions did cause mass death, both in the general vicinity and, to a lesser extent, around the world, but it did not cause anywhere near the type of death or come close to human extinction as some claim. No, if humans were to become extinct, it will be by our doing, or by interstellar forces, but it is highly unlikely it will be caused by nature. Pandemonium.Zeto

It would cause a global drop in temperature but not enough that it would cause mass extinction. The biggest loss of life would be that half of the United States where the hot ash would pretty much cook everything in its path. Wiping out all humans is hard. All that science and stuff. At best they can give you a Fallout world. Gotta respect all those super villains with a plan to eliminate all humans.

The biggest loss of life would be that half of the United States where the hot ash would pretty much cook everything in its path. For clarification, it would not "cook" half of the United States. Only a portion of that area would get "hot ash", mainly in the areas that would already be damaged by pyroclastic flows (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming). That's not to say that the ash wouldn't be a problem, though. We'd be looking at probably a third of the continental U.S. getting an inch or more. |
