Favourite Job Quests

Hi Folks. Back playing so back making videos. Hope you enjoy it. Would be interesting to know if your favourite job quest was your first one as well

Let’s just all agree BLU has the best quest line.

BLU is just about weaksauce humans who cant fend for themselves so they need to become a beast.

The best quest line, let me think: rdm, blm, whm, thf, mnk, war. Because there is no quest line, take the job and enjoy. Well in the new era it's not a big deal but in the old days it was a bit annoying to lvl any job and do the quest before you can take the job of your desire.

LOL yep. So my wife played for years, and she straight up refused to do that quest. Unlocked every other job, she just wouldn't abide that grind for a job she had no real intent to play. I ended up adopting her character as my alt, and despite the occasional OCD urge to just unlock the damn thing, to this day it remains the only job on either character that was never completed.

From all of the questlines (unlocking job, AF weapon, and AF armor pieces), I believe I enjoyed RNG the most for some reason. I don't particularly like the job at all, but it did have lore that tied into some other stories including some stuff revealed in WotG Windy mission line I think. I'd have to do it again to refresh it in mah head.

The THF quest line was good as well. It brought together lots of THFs from around Vanadiel including one that took someone's identity that you would recognize from the San d'Orian Mission line. Stupid Quake Grenades are required though. I dislike THF, SMN, COR, PUP, SCH, DNC, and BLU AF as they all cost money for AH goodies (unless you can make the stuff yourself, I suppose).

Honorable mention to the SCH quest line as it has the bloody book, a demon, and a... well, I won't spoil it, but the "Maat fight" for it was done well as far as the cutscene goes.


You could do the AF quests for the lore. You don't actually have to gear and play it to 99. Just a thought. I appreciate your commitment to being stubborn about not unlocking the job, I suppose. It's your $13/month.


Their AF story is their quest line. There isn't a quest to unlock the job, but they do each have a story to them.

I did the quests on my main character, so I've seen the lore. This was my wife. She simply wasn't having my similar argument to just finish it for the lore. But when she stopped playing and I took her character, it just felt right to me to continue her boycott of the DRK job quest on that character. That outweighs the fact that it sorta bugs me for general OCD-ish reasons (I'm the kind of person who gets ALL AF/relic/empy gear to 119+, etc).

I do voice my support that the DRK quest is stupid though.

I kinda dig the BST and RNG job/AF quests.

EDIT: also, I like how the TOAU and later jobs have their own "Maat" fight and are their own thing! Was always cool to me seeing the PUP Maat equivalent guy just chilling at the fountain in Bastok Markets.
