That's dirty politics. How is it even a thing that you can try to slip random unrelated things into bills?

It's never not been that way here, it needs to change.

It's "negotiation tactics" perverted in the worst possible way.

Arguing about "things in this bill we don't like" none of it needs to be there.

Money for this, and this only, and restrictions on how it can be used. That's it. and why is that so hard? because businesses pay for votes. and restrictions by how (*)free money can be used is against business interest. And that's *** up.

This isn't a time to try to get funding for planned parenthood in a stimulus bill. Crap like that being porked into it.

Yes, because needed healthcare for women is a bad thing to fund.

I think I lol'd.

Destroying the entire economy to bring down this President isn't the way to do it.

Of course not, allowing a president and his administration to destroy an economy isn't the way either and yet we're here again.

Political riders to bills have existed since Congress existed, and was probably practiced in other political bodies for centuries prior.

Its why a bill based on one issue can end up 370 pages because there's 40 unrelated spending bills tagged on to it, each targeted at a unique voting member to guarantee their vote.

Its dirty, its wrong, but its always been there. And it very likely always will be.

In the UK the opposition can propose amendments to a bill which have to be debated and get a majority to be accepted but they only ever propose small and relevant changes. Not dozens and irrelevant ones.

And yet it will never change for you because most Americans truly believe their political system is the best...

Why is the whole world so convinced that all Americans think the same? We don't assume that all Brits agreed with Brexit.

These last few pages shoulda been in P&R... but if you insist...

The sticking point for the dems was a $500 billion slush fund to be given at the discretion of the secretary of the treasury. It had literally no protections at all. A company could take the funds, fire everyone, sell everything, give all the funds as dividends and say thanks.

There was also the point that the GOP plan for cash distribution to the masses had the bucks coming out of your tax rebate. No rebate? No problem you slacker you get bupkis. Mind you the president, the dems, and some republicans from both houses wanted these to be free bucks given to all or all under some income level.

Oh yeah... no mention of an extension to unemployment in sight.

Would you vote for that plan?

The unemployment benefit expansion is in the bill. The rest of the stuff is the Democrap pork wish list.

It's not a wish list. If you want a puppy, you ask for a spaceship then bargain it down to a sport car.

Now isn't the time to be doing that is it?

It's never the time to do it. You will gotta do it even if you are like 5mins away from disaster.

That's the whole point of politics, you always have tomorrow to argue.

Another Chloroquine related death, this time in the states.
Quote:
"We saw Trump on TV — every channel — and all of his buddies and that this was safe," the woman told NBC News' Vaughn Hillyard, referring to President Donald Trump. "Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure."

With as much clarity as possible, this moron more or less drank bleach (aquarium cleaner) because it had chloroquine in it. That's how *** stupid people are. That's how dangerous spouting ***you know nothing about on television is. That's your average American voter.

They didn't even HAVE the *** viral infection.

This entire situation has shown us just how stupid people have actually become. It's too easy to stay alive these days. We need to stop trying to prevent natural selection.

At some point we're going to have to seriously start considering that question. Not looking great. The second most dangerous thing on earth is a stupid person. (the most dangerous is a person who is able to harness/motivate/weaponize others stupidity)

Deserve is not the question. Of course they deserve to live.

The real question is will their stupidity allow them to live? Check out the Darwin awards...

How can you be smart enough to take that chemical name you hear on TV and then spell it out into a readable word, find a product with it in (that's not as easy as you think it is) and then be stupid enough to drink it.

That is not logical, people who are HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE enough to drink bleach cannot function this well.

Also if she thinks he is trustworthy enough to drink bleach for why would she say "him and his buddies"
The news was going nuts reporting that the pharmaceutical Trump mentioned is a chemical very similar to fish tank cleaner. They were reporting that sales of fish tank cleaner was skyrocketing. Stupid people didn't figure that out themselves. Journalists told them.

This is what this story boils down to.
I agree with you, except you forgot 1 step:

>doctor says bleach kills virus and bacteria
the media encouraged people to drink the bleach.
>person drinks bleach
>media blame doctor
