How embarrassing. Asura.Eiryl said: » I missed the press meeting, trump threw another hissy fit and ran away. How embarrassing. I guess he was trying to take a *** victory lap on his covid response (literally nothing to celebrate) and an Asian female reporter asked him why he kept pointing at the scoreboard and he melted down again.
The media has been spending a lot of time trying to make the U.S. look like the worst country in terms of Covid response, and the second Trump shows a chart comparing our testing to that done in other countries suddenly they can't imagine why Trump is making this a "competition"?
Cognitive dissonance at its finest, and the claims of racism are just as ridiculous. See this is what's infuriating.
It doesn't matter that the US did more singular tests. It matters that we've tested NINE million out of THREE HUNDRED million. The CDC even removed the number of tests data from it's website, wonder why. It doesn't matter that labs are CAPABLE of PROCESSING millions of tests when they have no materials TO TEST WITH. He purposely spins that to look good and people eat it up. The media has spent almost zero time doing "global comparisons." We don't care how other countries are doing in their responses and never have. Thats all Trump has done since this started, which is why he deserves to be ridiculed. Pointing at the scoreboard in one way or another, demanding praise when he doesn't deserve any. So when he gets out there and misleads us all on the testing program, he deserves to be called out on it. The only number he points at on the scoreboard is total tests done, a completely irrelevant number.
Nobody cares how many total tests have been done, its about testing per capita and tests per day. When scientists say we need 500k tests a week and Trump says oh yeah we have conducted 9 million tests (3% of the population), congrats thats 3 weeks worth of tests done in month #3 of the pandemic. Meanwhile he is ignoring the fact that we are nowhere near the numbers we need to be at in order to finally get back to normal. Quote: Democrats Good Republicans Bad Orange Man VERY VERY BAD I wish this was just a joke or parody but the left really does break everything down to that. Their entire campaign strategy since 2016 can be summarized in three words "Orange Man Bad". Viciouss said: » The media has spent almost zero time doing "global comparisons." It was pretty easy, I've seen almost no stories comparing numbers of different countries, other than Sweden and China. I'm not surprised you latched onto to that sentence tho.

I only latched onto it because if you really think that's true then anything that follows is practically irrelevant because I can't tell what version of reality was responsible for your views that formed the rest of your post. Right, it had nothing to do with the fact that the post completely scorched your attempt to accuse us of "cognitive dissonance" and portray Trump as any kind of a victim, which is always laughable. Stop trying to blame the media for Trump's pathetic behavior.
2K Former DOJ Employees to AG Bill Barr: Resign Now This is the second time since February Quote: (Newser) – Once again, thousands of former Justice Department employees are calling on Attorney General William Barr to resign. This time, they're peeved at the DOJ's dismissal of the Michael Flynn case, CNN and the Washington Post report. The nonprofit Protect Democracy, which previously organized an open letter signed by more than 2,600 former Justice Department officials calling on Barr to resign over his handling of the Roger Stone case, also organized this open letter, so far signed by more than 2,100 so-called "DOJ Alumni" who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.... As Jared said, "a great success!" We're mere weeks from "we have more Covid deaths then the entire planet combined" We're number 1!
(which is really weird that India has basically zero cases considering the size and living conditions... but that's a testament to lack of testing to show true numbers) Viciouss said: » Right, it had nothing to do with the fact that the post completely scorched your attempt to accuse us of "cognitive dissonance" and portray Trump as any kind of a victim, which is always laughable. I kinda thought we'd finally gotten away from people actually thinking they're pwning anybody on the internet. That being said, no, it didn't. The predictions in general that have come out of that other thread have been pretty ridiculous, though. But at least you acknowledge that the numbers coming out of other countries are crap. Which countries? Like I said, the media is not making this comparison. During the hearing today, one of the Admirals was trying to celebrate our testing numbers while comparing it to South Korea. One of the senators shut that *** down right away. South Korea has had less than 300 deaths, how is that a favorable comparison? Only in the Trump bubble. See this is trump spin 101
South Korea has no more (very few) vitims to test because they handled the outbreak "well". Trump completely *** it up, and now we have millions of victims to test. So, he did the most tests! Ignore the why, focus on the #1 statistic. When politicians "say" something, ask what they're spinning, it's never honest.
We wouldn't have needed 10 million tests if they'd taken it seriously. The fact that we have to test 10 million people shows failure, not success. Flynn judge invites outside parties to weigh in on case
Quote: A federal judge said Tuesday that he would allow interested parties to weigh in on Michael Flynn's case, an unusual move for a criminal prosecution, after the Department of Justice (DOJ) sought to drop the charges against the former national security adviser. Judge Emmet Sullivan of the D.C. District Court said in a brief order that "at the appropriate time, the Court will enter a Scheduling Order governing the submission of any amicus curiae briefs." The case was upended last week when the DOJ moved to dismiss its charge against Flynn for lying to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. in 2016. The lead prosecutor on the case, who had been overseeing it since Flynn first pleaded guilty to the charge in 2017, withdrew shortly before the motion was filed last Thursday. It's unusual for prosecutors to withdraw a case against a defendant who has already pleaded guilty. The move to allow amicus briefs offers critics of the DOJ's decision an opportunity to weigh in. Sullivan, a Clinton appointee, still needs to approve the DOJ's motion to drop the charges. He has yet to schedule a hearing or ask for further briefing In a not so surprising development, the Flynn judge has slowed down the motion to dismiss the case that the rogue DOJ is trying to drop. So much for the result Saevel was trying to guarantee. Throw in China and possibly other countries with state-run medias that can’t be trusted to accurately report anything. Either way, we’re not worse off than the rest of “the entire planet combined”. There will be a third wave in the fall concurrent with... flu season! But then again India might actually start testing a reasonable percentage of their population. If they do there is no way we are going to beat then. We're about to be, we aren't yet. (as documented)
*I can break out all the whys about how excess deaths isn't that good and indicator if anyone is interested.
Asura.Eiryl said: » We're about to be, we aren't yet. (as documented) Doubt it. Time will tell. Some people are awfully gleeful about the prospect, though. Weird to see anyone cheering about deadly outbreaks and a possible economic depression, but anything to make Trump look bad is worth the devastation in a lunatic’s mind. No one has to make trump look bad, he does an excellent job all by himself
Asura.Eiryl said: » No one has to make trump look bad, he does an excellent job all by himself Tell that to the media. If everything Trump said and did was reported straight without endless wall-to-wall coverage complete with spin, and exaggeration, and hyperbole, he probably would have lost the election. and that's the heart of the problem ain't it. money.
nothing says you have to be honest. nothing says you have to cover anything. ("news" shows are being sued right now for lying) Clickbait/Viewbait gets revenue. Stop rewarding bad behavior with money. Stop promoting greed. |
