Quote: DNC is 31% (23=8%) SC damage as a master. So Nyame has no advantage there.
Ahh yeah, I forgot about the 8% we got from gifts. So the skillchain bonus isn't even applicable. It doesn't change my stance on the two pieces though. It's a wash either way. And yes, I was comparing R30 nyame. Either one will be hitting 99k with climactic up, so there's no difference there. For non climactic the difference is so small it won't affect kill speed whatsoever, so I just take the more defensively sound option.

Where do I even start with the steps / flourishes dance?
Step until you have 5, and climatic at that point? Reverse if climatic is down?
Is that a good starting point to start learning how to dance?

Have 10 finishing moves to use with Climatic Flourish to be able to use Reverse Flourish. Prior to the fight starting, like 10-15 seconds prior, pop Presto, engage, run in and use a Step, then Presto to Step again right away. Only have 5 finishing moves for Climatic limits you to at best one WS with forced crits.
In best cases, No Foot Rise on the way to a boss, pop Building Flourish before the fight starts, then do the Presto Step x2 combo listed above to rebuild back to 10. Then WS, build TP, Climatic Flourish, WS, Reverse Flourish, WS. Depending on the mob, you might need to High Jump or Super Jump to lose hate.

If crooked 11 misers, I'll have 540TP saved from a WS, and can generally get 4 WS off a climactic. ML50, and using common sets found in guides(all jobs damage simulator thread sets) and an idle set I picked up from the forum a few pages back.
Couple things here:
-Save TP can never return 540 TP, it caps at 500. You're probably seeing your TP after a tic of regain
-Crooked is more potent on Tacticians in terms of overall TP gained, especially considering the above (Save TP can be almost capped without a crooked Miser)
As for your other question I think you'll find that people's claims of 6 minute hard modes are either extremely exceptional WC luck, exaggeration, and/or exemplary play from all 5 DDs. I wouldn't count this as a failure of your DNC play, though it's obviously good to look to improve.
For our group, DNC is typically a little over 50% of our damage, totaling about 2~2.5m damage overall. Though I must say, our non-DNC DDs are often a bit lacking and our DNC is very good, so you might find you do sub-50%. WSavg is over 90k always, usually ~93k or so I think on normal mode. Not sure about HM since I don't parse and they don't always post the parses but I think it's 70-something average. Depends if you get multiple GP/SV/Bolsters too.
I'll let others speak up about their JA usage since I don't know much about it, but I think either here or in the Sortie thread there are at least a couple/few really good breakdowns from solid DNC. Here's a good place to start

Hey dancers,
I have a question!
I use the job as a sub job and as such I can't go past the 50% cap on waltz potency+.
At the moment i use a set that gives me waltz potency + 51% with 140 CHR and +3% waltz effect received (Asklepian Ring).
Now, i finally finished the metamorph ring +1 which is +16 CHR.
Should i swap it with the asklepian?
Or should i go down to 48% cure potency and use the metamorph instead of valseur? That would bring me to CHR 156.
Thanks!

Probably neither swap but you can test for yourself quickly by just getting hit and using waltz (or rdm/dnc with convert if that is the job you sub it on).
By K123 2024-07-02 08:41:43
BG Wiki says the cap is 50% regardless of main or sub job, is this not the case?

It's 50 (maybe 50.x shenanagins)
But it's a simple which is more question, 16 chr or 2% potency. Easily answered with set vs set and convert as byrth said.
Or more likely poison pots as rdm can't wear the gear.
(It's probably 2 hp difference on III)

It is the case, but CHR and VIT are worth half as much when subbed.
They are proposing: 50% potency, 3% received, +140CHR
vs. 48% potency, 3% received, +156CHR
vs. 50% potency, +156CHR
We don't know what the base VIT or CHR is, but we can assume CW3. Potency = 1.53*(200 + 0.375*(140+X))
Potency = 1.51*(200 + 0.375*(156+X))
Potency = 1.50*(200 + 0.375*(156+X))
From this you can see that the last option (removing asklepian) is strictly worse than the second option (removing Valseur). Now we have two equations and one unknown so let's do maf and see where they are equal.
The equality point is when X=535, which seems unlikely, so you can probably use metamorph +1 over valseur's ring for greater potency. I would personally probably not due to its -60HP, but if you aren't doing content where getting one shotted is a problem then it'd be fine. Congrats on your extra 1HP healed.

30%, but you can't hit it with DNC subjob because the gear doesn't exist.

Biggest thing for Aminion is a great idle set. (Regain,STP, Regal Gloves). Then it’s items tincture, wing, soda spam, Volte body. Then maximizing your climatic flourish and SPs.
What sodas and tinctures? This is the first time I'm hearing about using these

So the best Waltz set for DNC mixing potency, potency received, and DT is something like:
ItemSet 396139
Or not even worth bothering to swap out the waist, earring1 and ammo for the brief time?

The panties should always be considered, a free blink is equal to like an extra 100hp cured (or more depending)
simple nlegs to dashing, and af3 to emp3 feet, basically the same, dunno if "best"

Yamarang > Pebble, since you aren't capped on potency. Could also put on toetapper if you want to cap potency and still retain your potency received effects on (at cost of some DT). Dropping 3 potency on ring to make up the DT loss would make a net increase if you really don't want to use the DT.

400tp: with regain and saveTP rolls its an instant WS. (500tp from saveTP with ionis, 2 tics of regain which you get while using the Tinc)

I think I missed the neck or earring, disregard.

simple nlegs to dashing, and af3 to emp3 feet, basically the same, dunno if "best" They give you a single blink shadow after you have used waltz or only during waltz? This set isn't assuming solo or mob is necessarily on you.

Puts up a blink during waltz, lasts 30 seconds
Not always useful, thats why you should consider it, not absolutely get it
Generally if I need a waltz.. it's because I'm facing/tanking it, so I always use it

It is the case, but CHR and Congrats on your extra 1HP healed.
Hahaha.... but i know thats what ill get.
As for now my Curing Waltz III heals me for 734hp, i was hoping to reach 800, wont happen.
