I like how you snipped off the end of that lawyer's statement that said no one is getting a free ride because it undercuts your entire "argument."

The article doesn't say that at all. You're editing the quote. You have to be intentionally doing it because you know you're full of ***, or have no reading comprehension at all. The lawyer said that these people aren't coming here for a free ride, they're coming here for health care. That is not the same statement as, "they're coming here paying for their health care."

So they have to show they are able to pay for their treatment, or their insurance is paying for it, before even getting into the country.

for the 2nd time, Source your statement.

Chanti posted a link that tells you they have access to government funded health benefits. Quit asking for a source, having a source literally read to you, then claim no one is providing any sources. Yet, you've been asked for sources to back up your blanket statements and you've provided zero.

or people are staying here on a medical deferral without getting treatment (thats the best one btw, thanks Rav!)

I didn't say this. I said it's possible that someone could use delay tactics to prolong treatment. There are many ways to do this, and none of them are all that uncommon. That could include spacing out scheduled appointments, taking smaller doses of medication to make it last longer, feigning/exaggerating symptoms to prolong care, etc.

I know that you and your cohorts are on a weird kick where you ask for proof of things that are currently not (or never will be) reported, but we're simply pointing out things that are known to happen in the medical industry. Do they apply in this super specific case with this relatively small sample size? Maybe, maybe not, but acting like this specific program is iron-tight, impossible to game, and full of law-abiding altruists is a little ridiculous when you see what is currently going on everywhere else.

Tell that to the medical experts in Boston that I was quoting, not the lawyer that you accused me of cutting off. His quote came in a completely different paragraph in response to the medical experts saying this is not a path to citizenship. That's why he said they aren't here for the free ride. He then says they are here to save their childrens' lives. No one would say, "I'm not here for the free healthcare, i'm here for the healthcare." Or crash a bbq and tell everyone, "I'm not here for the free food, i'm here for the food." Come on man.

So to summarize where we've gotten in this entire argument.

That's what the medical deferral program does, it extends their legal stay while they are getting treatment, that they are paying for.

Then we claim that they do have access to government funded health benefits, which you continue to deny. You ask for a source, so I provided:

"The deferrals, they added, do not provide families a pathway to citizenship, though they can qualify for government-funded health benefits and receive legal permission to work while their children receive medical treatment."

-Source: Source which quoted medical experts in Boston

You've tried moving the goalposts by claiming that we are saying they are expecting it to be paid in full by charity or whatever nonsense statements you're attempting to put in our mouths that we've never said. We simply claim that they have access to government funded health benefits.

Yes you did, in your first wild claim, "not everyone who gets a deferral is seeking treatment." I already said that wasn't believable, and it's still not. You think they are what exactly? Getting a medical deferral for a disease they don't have? Or getting a deferral and then not getting treatment, dying as a result? It's no more believable than they are prolonging treatment for these advanced diseases.

And yes, we are demanding sources for wild conspiracies, as always. Whether or not they are being reported doesn't seem to matter to you guys when you make the claims, so don't expect any sympathy when you can't back them up. Slore and nausi think it's taxpayer funded, let's see the evidence. We know they aren't voting lol, so no source needed there. You are making these wild claims about abuse, source them. I'm not helping any of you prove your conspiracies.

Seems to make sense to me.

spoiler: 1. a person or thing that spoils something.

In this usage the chances of winning an election.

"Not everyone who is under the deferral program came here specifically for treatment."

How did I botch the wording? I can't copy and paste from my phone, but this is an allegation that not everyone under the deferral program we are talking about is here for treatment. So, what are they here for then? Its a medical deferral, it seems pretty simple.

Yup, still completely missed the point. Not everyone who is being deferred came to this country with the same kind of visa or other permitted status. This suggests that an undefined portion of them came here initially for reasons other than medical care. It is possible to develop medical problems while you're here, dontchaknow.

Vic, some came here on other visas then got sick and applied for medical deferrals. Some with rare diseases were brought here by research doctors.

Uhhhh, yeah, I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this works. You don't come here "on a deferral". You come here on a visa (or something similar) and later obtain a deferral to give you more time. A deferral is by definition a "postponement of an action or event".

No I don't. People come here specifically for medical treatment, they get a deferral to extend their stay, they continue to get said treatment. You guys have made some wild claims about abuse and taxpayer funding, most of which are not believable. Actually, none of them have been believable. None of this has been hard.

Quit while you're behind. Even Chanti felt the need to correct you. You will never be able to prove that 100% of people on medical deferral came to this country with the sole purpose of getting treatment. That's just ridiculous. Beyond that, people with active visas can still get treatment because, and I repeat, they didn't come here "on a deferral".

lol, so its "ridiculous" to think that this small group of people with diseases like cancer, fibrosis, HIV, etc only came here so they could get treated for said diseases instead of you know, dying. Or they came here without these diseases, contracted them in the US (o.O) and are using that as an excuse to stay here for treatment instead of you know, dying. Or, they are prolonging treatment for these diseases in order to stay here for longer because that is totally not risking..dying. Yeah, those last two seem pretty ridiculous.

Well! Good news, apparently Congress has already scheduled a hearing this week so the Trump admin can explain to us all why they are deporting kids with cancer.
