POL Crashing Upon Opening

Got a friend trying to install POL and FFXI on new pc. Downloaded from POL site and started install process. Opened POL only to have it close right away with no error message. I have teamviewered with him and noticed not all of the POL files are in the POL folder like mine. Tried redownloading off EU and US sites with no change, even tried Steam version with the same issue.

I ran Event viewer and the crash is pertaingin to d3d10warp.dll

already doing all the Legacy stuff using directplay, running in admin.

Windows 10 forced update 1903, pol crashes before reaching login screen, no error like stated above. Does the same thing launching through windower or vanilla pol.

Anyone have a fix?

Scroll down a bit into the stuff where people were having similar problems. Maybe something is there related to your issue. *shrugs*

FFXI crashed last night while I was running around the immensely populated Cerberus Bastok Mines and POL has not worked since. The initial blue POL box pops up and a second screen that is blank before both crash. Task manager lists POL as not responding right away before it closes without message.

-I'm on windows 10. I basically don't use my PC for anything else anymore, so I'm not opposed to windows 11 if it actually improves ffxi, but I'm doubtful
-I've seen a lot of talk about Dgvoodoo doodoo on other threads. I don't have it.
-I've tried reinstalling POL, restarting my PC, running vanilla POL, and running it through windower.
-Seems like the above windows 7 link/thread doesn't apply, probably because I'm on windows 10

Try doing a checkfiles in POL if you can

If you cant, try reinstalling POL / FFXI

I'm not sure how to check files. If I uninstall ffxi I lose my macros again right? Its been a long time since I've saved them to the server.

Edit: I think I found the folder, I'll reinstall both :(

Ok I reinstalled pol and ffxi, and same issue. I used fresh files from SE

Sounds like a problem outside of XI/POL, but did you do a clean install or install over it?

Uninstall then install. I have no clue what would have changed while I was playing that would prevent pol from opening. I really don't use my pc for anything else.
