Just figured I'd ask and see what other hobbies the community has besides working and playing FFXI.
Me myself I am a Nurse Practitioner in real life and I also do ham radio. It annoys my discord friends but I turn it off during events haha.

I enjoy pew pews and going around on my motorcycle. Not at same time tho.
I mountain bike.
If I could do it everyday (I can't, live in the northeast) I would never play FFXI again. I literally wouldn't do anything except be out on my bike if I could, but that's not feasible. Offline

4 yrs sober now so I occupy my free time with pretty much just FFXI. When the mood strikes or I'm burned out on it I'll paint miniatures for my board games (primarily Kingdom Death: Monster) or I'll have friends over to play said games with.

I ride my road bike whenever the weather allows (which isn't that often living in Seattle) but would like to venture into mountain biking as well. Patb mountain biking was invented in Seattle. Really!
Barriers are first buying the bike, there is a great used bike selection at a little shop in the 5200 block of University Way NE BTW. Next identifying what trails are closed to mountain bikes, then finding the bus routes and schedules to applicable trail heads. Seattle has got to be the easiest place to go actually mountain biking. playing counterstrike or rainbowsix siege.
watching anime/movies ~ exploring the dark depths of youtube. having board games nights or reading ffxiah >_> Asura.Patb said: » Asura.Reichleiu said: » I mountain bike. The PNW is definitely a great place to mountain bike. In fact, Bellingham is only about an hour to 1.5hr north of Seattle, and it has some of the best mountain biking in the country. Of course, the whole PNW region is known for it's mountain biking, from northern CA all the way up to Costal BC and Squamish. Barrier for entry isn't much, and your fitness from road biking will definitely help you. Decent entry level bikes can be had today for 500-700+. Decent entry level full suspension bikes can run you under 1500-2500+ and then up from there. It's more about your budget and what type of bike / terrain you're riding. Start with some easy trails and work your way up. Definitely check out some local bike shops and ask around. But you could get yourself a Norco or Kona hardtail living in Seattle for like $600-700 and end up with a decent amount of bike for the money. Brands like Intense, YT, Canyon, Diamondback, and Transition (a Bellingham brand) have all gone direct to consumer now, so if you wanted to spend more money and get as much bike as possible – that's the direction I would recommend. If you're worried about buying a bike and not being into mountain biking at all, buy from REI. I don't recommend you use REI as your bike shop, in fact I would take any bike I buy there to a proper shop to be adjusted, but they have a 1 year return policy and you can actually ride the bike before returning it. All you need is a bike, helmet, hydration, and proper shoes and you're set to get started. Offline

And the French team has been dominate this year riding the Supreme with that insane high-pivot design. Commencal might be my next bike.. either the AM or TR 29. Work for a wrestling news site and admin a lot of things. Wrestling fans can be very demanding and insulting, so thick skin is required. I wrote articles in my spare time for fun, til the webmaster forced money into my pocket. If we got any wrestling fans here, PM me and I can forward you on to us if you'd like a good site to visit in your leisure. I don't want to advertise it here as most won't care for it.
Outside of that I'm very much into comedies, the walking dead, F1 racing, football (soccer), and being the general fixer of things for friends/family. I was also a very accomplished Chess player in my youth and have taught school children how to play. Offline
