Perhaps I'm too young to be a cynic, but I doubt I will see a truly great president in my lifetime. Simply put, the collective is simply too stupid to pull it off. And before the smug Europeans try and agree with me, your leaders are crap too.

The establishments of both parties in the U.S. are just flat out awful. I would have elected a literal middle finger if I could have just to make them run around like the sky was falling. Trump was a serviceable substitute, and in spite of the sheer panic (which is hilarious, btw), my quality of life is up and WWIII isn't any closer to happening as a result of his election. In other words, you can't make me care about "unpresidential behavior" when the people who have been groomed to act presidential are the very people that needed to be taken down a notch and shown their place.

Republicans voted for him to keep Clinton out of the White House, Republicans loath President Trump. When Trump won the Republican primary he already locked in the Republican votes or at the very least ensured they wouldn't vote for Clinton. All he had to do was win the portion of the US population not beholden to a political religion and who normally don't care about whats going on. He did that by appearing human, sometimes Homer Simpson level human, but still vastly more reliable then the liberal elites the Democrats were demanding we all support or we're deplorable racist misogynists. All he had to do was win over Joe Sixpack and Frank Office Space. Contrary to what the socialists would say, most Americans are neither Democrats nor Republicans but instead this fuzzy grayish place called "I don't give a ***". Both parties have largely ignored them because they don't give a *** and rarely vote because they don't give a *** about either horrible elite candidate. Then someone like Trump comes along and straight up trolls both parties causing indignation and outrage far better then any reality TV show could. Now you got all those "I don't give a ***" laughing and enjoying the show. Then the Democrats wade in and call all those *** bad words, which pretty much solidifies their support of the guy doing all the trolling.
