Here's how you do it. You're gonna google AltanaView, and download it. Then you're going to select the PC tab and select the race/sex you want and the pieces of gear from which slot you desire. At the bottom, you'll see the file location. Happy modding!

thanks i had the old version of altana viewer had to download the newer one to get those armors

Tried searching, has anybody ever done a HD ver of Barone/Arke set for DRG? One of my favorite sets in the game.

I'll be posting in the thread below from now on, since I can't update the OP thread anymore here.

I'll probably start deleting zip packs shown in this thread as I need more space on my google drive (once I have replacement versions in the other thread)

Hey, I'm just getting started into changing ffxi to HD, and someone pointed me to the mega pack FFXI-HD download. I've figured out I need pivot to load it, but I'd previously replaced my mod folders with Amelias hd mods. Does this pack overwrite those roms, or do I need to revert to original rom folders to use this pack?

Also on a side note, does anyone know how to fix the fps using dgvoodoo2 when bard songs play?

Installed the linked mega pack a few pages ago and when I run through areas my game seems to hitch a lot where it didn't before all the dat swaps. I have a GTX 2070S, Ryzen 5 3600x, and 16GB RAM so it's not my machine. I -do- play on a private 75 cap server which means older graphics settings, too. Not sure if that would matter. Anyone else experienced this? Is it likely just zone dats?

well.... if you are using Xipivot. This can easily be tested by unloading it and walking through the buggy areas.

I had to delete a lot of the big zone files due to other issues but I do remember experiencing some hiccups every now and then.

Try lowering mipmapping and see if it helps.

Can any of the HD mods cause Equipviewer to lag or frame stutter when switching gear?

Equipviewer just shows icons, hd mods have nothing to do with that.

For each race there is a main hand dat file and a off-hand, best to install only the ones you'll use.

So I discovered this thread thanks to looking for a good Excalibur pic for a project, apologies for an off-topic Bump, but these are some damn good HD re-textures.

Like looking at some of them feels like "Glasses off vs. Glasses on", and my eyes are S H O T

Ok so turns out it wasn't the mega pack, it was Ashenbubs HD pack https://github.com/Ashenbubs/AshenbubsHD

I wasn't using XIPivot, but I am now (fortunately had back up files).

My Mipmapping was set to max (6) so I will turn that down and see how it handles.

Edit: Changing Mip Mapping fixed it. Thanks!

Ashen uses much larger textures than I do, so you'll have more pronounced hitches with high mipmapping.

Most games store mipmaps in the files, FFXI doesn't because they wanted smaller file sizes (ps2 hard drive limitation). As such it makes mipmaps on the fly as you move around (higher setting means it makes more of them), if you have large textures and high mipmap setting this can cause a hitch while it makes those.

Mipmaps are just smaller images of the textures that the game uses as you move closer and further away from something.

So I’m not sure if this is the correct forum to ask, if not I do apologize. I just noticed this issue after doing the HD mod upgrade to my game, more specifically after DGvoodoo.
My question is, has anyone else come across the issue of slow animations, more specifically for example, fly and wasp wings motions extremely slow, almost not moving and always in the up position. I have changed frame rate divisor to 1 and did all the adjustments as per the “make ffxi beautiful in 2020” video.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

In Game menu>Config>Misc. 2>Animation Frame Rate
Max this out and you should not have that issue any longer.

I was able to tinker a bit and figure it out, I had frame rate maxed. Turns out I needed to enable “fast video memory access” on the direct X tab on Voodoo ☺️

Bard AF3 set for all races:

There is a full set of HD mods for all races in the zip, also 2 (1 for taru) extra mods for each race with higher res dats for body and feet in the "zz higher res body and feet mods" folder.

The screenshot is the highest res versions.

Remember to unload and restart Xipivot if you are introducing new folders / files, or it won't recognize new mods.

Texture sizes for body on main races:
Vanilla = 128x256
HD = 256x512
HD+ = 512x1024
