This is pretty much true across the board though as I've tried to explain several times. People seem to forget this and it's why the "outrage" over misdeeds is so easy to overlook in-party. When you already assume the other person is as bad as a pedophile/racist/etc. in the first place, it's way easier to go "Well I guess maybe he diddles kids, but at least he's pro-life (or whatever)." Please remember that to some deeply religious people being gay is the same as being a pedophile and the Democrats are stringently pro-gay so for some people the entirety of the Democratic party enables pedophiles already. Obviously I don't agree with this, but it's really not that hard to see where they're coming from in supporting Moore still.
