FWIW... when you do an aoe Phy WS(eg shockwave) with the ampulla it will consume 1k gil per mob hit

This is very visible on MNK spinning attack when you do it with some QA/TA/DA, some targets get hit for 5k, some 10k, some 15k and some 20k.

The Hoxne Ampulla was the perfect candidate for a long, hard, involved quest line à la Black Belt. Instead it's a random roll. Such a missed opportunity.

For SE the ampula is a gimmick, a throw away gag item that spends gil in exchange for dmg ala gil toss.
To the XI community it's a required DD piece and if you don't spend 2m gil/hour to increase your DPS, you're a gimp. |
