I've seen some blu's joining Aoe burns in Reisenjima and was wondering if anyone could post a spell list / gear list of what they use.
Thanks

What they said. Spells that are a must for cleaving would be verve, sub, floe, entomb, crush for dips.

Doesn't seem like Gorns's post was him/her being an ***; just showing you where to find the info, considering you hadn't indicated that you knew that thread existed. /shrug

The cleaving thread is very out of date, but the main guide thread is quite current. The last spell set list mentioned in the OP is used specifically for AoE cleaving. There is also a section under "What can I do as a Blue Mage?" with some beginner information on how to cleave.

Gear:

- 2x Nibiru Cudgels,
- Idle set with 50% PDT and some refresh,
- Movement gear, preferably 18%,
- 60%+ fast cast set,
- Strong MAB set, combo of Herc, Jhakri, Amalric, Samnuha/Carmine.

Spells:

- Spectral Floe and Tenebral Crush are your main sources of damage,
- Leading with Subduction will keep you from getting overwhelmed,
- Charcarian Verve to stop interrupts,
- Reactor Cool is useful,
- Magic Hammer for mp recovery,
- Erratic Flutter to mitigate recasts,
- DW 1,
- Fill the rest.with as much MAB and ConserveMP traits as you can,
- Sub RDM for Phalanx, Diaga (pulls) and Convert.

Practice on weaker targets until you get the hang of it. It's really easy to get KOd in Reisenjima if your sets are weak, or you don't know what you're doing. Adoulin Gates -> Escha Zi'tah -> Reisenjima

Two things to add:
1. Set Occultation for shadows. Have a Blue magic skill set to use with occultation so you get more shadows from the spell.
2. Set Entomb. The AoE petrification can be very useful if you are overwhelmed or need to recover. In Reisin, I'll usually lead with an Entomb, then follow with Spectral Floe since Spectral Floe alone isn't enough to one shot most mobs there.

on cleaves i think the best set to have is fastcast, if you dont have a fastcast set, your going to get interrupted and of know benefit to your party when the shits really going down. In addition to Occulation I would run diamonhide to give just a little more protectiong to not only myself but my party before a big pull comes into camp

I'm only at 500 jp on my blu, but I've been cleaving a fair bit.

I've found Charged Whisker is still my best Damage. Granted, it doesn't have the additional effects of the newer AoE spells, but it wins out alot in pure damage. Maybe its because I have so much dex in nuking gear.

I often see 5k nukes from Entomb, Spectral Flow. 7~8k w/ Tenebral Crush, and 10k w/ Charged Whisker.

wondering if anyone has similar experience.

The elemental spells shouldn't hit anything lower than 8-10k from a half-decent BLU. The most important part of these spells is the added effect, where Entomb/Floe will stop everything around you for about 3-5 seconds, giving you either enough time to CAEF Whirling Rage (if you have it set), sleep (if you need time), or just finish them off with one more spell. Also, Subduction is insanely powerful and fast. Can be abused far more frequently that Charged Whisker and is more MP efficient.

Does anyone know if there is an addon for displaying remaining spell interrupts on Carcharian Verve/Aqua Veil?

When AoE'ing in Reisenjima I find that the only times I risk death is when verve wears while attempting to cast. The duration is not really much of an indicator as it varies depending on how aggressive i've been with pulls.

It should really just have an in game counter like Utsusemi does now

Honestly I don't think this is possible to do for the way the game calculates interruption. How would you know if the spell was not interrupted by a hit because your skill is high enough and you got low dmg/lucky roll (this takes priority) or by aquaveil preventing it (this happens only if the former doesn't)? As a general advice, some spells like dream flower are fast enough that, with capped FC, can be easily cast in-between mob attacks even without aquaveil up so can be used for those oh-***moments. This saved me countless times when pulling too many mobs.

I assume there has to be an internal counter somewhere, i.e you start off with 15 spell interrupts and this goes down as they activate. If that counter was displayed would give you a good idea on how safe your next pull will be.

I'm already recasting verve everytime UL is up but appreciate the tip on Dream flower

Do yourself a favor and idle in Terra staff and carmine legs or some form of movement speed and swap to clubs for nukes. Will allow more slots for refresh and various dt gear.

Never have MP issues but do use carmine legs in idle/dt set
