I also recommend Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA if you can find it. Strong as hell probably like 12% or so. Bitter as hell but good.

The only blackouts I've endured, after MANY attempts mind you, were once on moonshine from kentucky, and the other involved LSD and jack daniels. I was fine until the acid wore off, then the next thing I knew it was morning and my mother said I would be cleaning the entire kitchen because I pissed in the silverware drawer.
