I'll just stick to alcohol. I don't need any more mind altering drugs. I can't tell what is real and what is not real as it is !

If recreational THC was legal I would probably use it more than alcohol. Fewer calories, especially given that I get munchy drinking too, so at least the booze itself would be out of the equation. Reserve my drinking for truly enjoying fine whiskey and beer. Offline

I don't know pot heads annoying me. People are dumb enough as it is. We don't need anymore dumb people.

People as a whole are stupid regardless of their escapist activity and/or substance of choice. fonewear said: » Yea I'm not taking medical advice from some guy on the internet. take a spoonful of maple syrup once a day! I have a feeling there is a lot more to this story than some disgruntled gambler. This seems like the guy knew what he was doing. Put a lot of planning. Could have had help from other people.

There are saying he had fertilizer bombs and all sorts of stuff.

Could have had help from other people. The guy was loaded. He owned several planes and houses. His hotel room had anywhere between 10-20 firearms. Some being on the high end like Daniel Defense DDM4 (MSRP $1850) with some quality optics. Also I counted about 15-16 Surefire 100 round magazines (MSRP $170 each.) a small fortune in itself. Also he rented 2 rooms, one of which was a really huge suite, he also had multiple cameras set up both in the room and in the hallway. To move that many long guns in un-noticed it would of taken days. This wasn't just a spur of the moment type thing. He had time to calm down and rethink what he was doing. He wanted to do this. The hotel was also a gun/weapon free zone so he had to be discreet. No amount of laws would of stopped this. Dozens were broken in the process. Laws mean nothing to a man with money and a death wish. That is what scares people. Criminally and Mentally he had no prior history. Some people have demons inside of them that are more terrifying that any creature of fiction. If the fertilizer bomb thing is true, we are lucky he didn't load up one of his private planes with explosives. I feel so terrible that so many people were injured and killed. It was a very senseless act. Fenrir.Skarwind said: » No amount of laws would of stopped this. Since no one else has posted in 9+ hours I'll be the first to disagree with you here. And there should be laws against bumpstocks and other technology that enables these guns to simulate fully automatic weapons. I agree with the sentiment of your post, but to say this couldn't have been prevented? Mass shootings like this don't happen on the scale or regularity in other developed countries. What are we doing wrong? Offline

"I need X amount of guns in case I need to rise up against the government" is such a flawed argument.
Have you seen what the US government already has at it's disposal for riot control and/or law enforcement? They would not look out of place in a war zone, do people think that some guys with rifles are going to stand a chance against a government and all the resources it has? Didn't think so. I have more faith in hackivists and black hats bringing down governments than I do a bunch of guys with guns. Because if we start limiting the number of guns/ammo a person may or may not hold, that's just the start of limiting their freedom to own a gun in the first place. We all know that government isn't one to stop at reason, especially when you have the extremists parties out there that believe in the "all or nothing, but always all in their ideology" method (liberalism). Those people will limit people's freedoms in a drop of a hat. Offline

If the Democrats had there way they would ban water pistols. That is how far they would take this.

They don't really care about the people that died. They just hate guns mostly. Like if we got rid of guns violence would end magically.
