Not if they aren't legal. Part of the initial entry is birth certificates or other citizenship documents. If they aren't US citizens they need to provide immigration papers showing they entered legally "with inspection". Otherwise they aren't eligible for enlistment period end of story. Non-citizens are only eligible to serve one enlistment, but Military service has an expedited citizenship process so that service members can get naturalized.

And before you spout ignorance about MAVNI, that program is for pulling in people with extremely rare skills like languages. It bypasses all immigration requirements period. Obama used MAVNI to get a handful of DACA illegals into the military. They would of been eligible for MAVNI anywsy if applying from their home nstion. MAVNI is one of those programs that can be used to recruit translators from unfriendly nations.

Yawns... so you're saying you just wanted to say No, and made an absolute statement for the sake of being contrarian. Then proceeded to list off exceptions to your statement.

Always a good time.

FYI: I never said the Dreamers in the military were illegal aliens.

I said they (dreamers) were in the military. You felt you had to be like "oh ***Zerowone, I hate that guy he makes me insecure, posted. I gotta tell him he is wrong because internet nemesis"... then you straight explained the process how they're in the military. Which is great but only backs my point.

Seriously you should stop wasting your time it's not a good look for you.

Finally I get the "Won't someone please think of the children" That is basically the entire daca argument. We thought of the children. And thought their parents should have followed the law.

To think the day might actually come where we get to kick out this smug criminal alien back to Mexico (or wherever she came from).

Music to my ears. People might actually not brag about illegally ripping of the country.

Let me guess she wants to work for the ACLU to bring in more undocumented immigrants.
Who cares? She has nice legs.

Lol videos on YouTube of cops making Antifa thugs remove their masks before attending protests and ***.

They seem to just kinda lose their momentum after they lose their masks.

FYI: I never said the Dreamers in the military were illegal aliens.

I want everyone to look at this line and realize how dumb Zero is.

"Dreamers" are by definition illegal aliens in the USA. If you hold a legal immigration status then you can not be a "Dreamer".

The "Dream Act" never passed congress, it was never law. Instead President Obama signed a memo ordering the executive to ignore the legal status of illegal immigrants who illegally entered the USA as children.

There are ZERO people in the Military brought in under the DACA. It's illegal for someone to enlist and not have a legal immigration status.

https://citizenpath.com/mavni-program/

The MAVNI isn't a work around for DACA, it's a program designed to give legal immigration status and thus eligibility for service for those people with rare critical skills, typically in languages. The usual requirement is that the personal already be a legal resident of the USA but exceptions can be made for those recruited from overseas on a case by case basis. President Obama later tried to use executive order to grant a general exemption for DACA beneficiaries. This turned into a ***storm until the whole thing became moot when MAVNI was discontinued in 2016.

If your going to make statements, at least get your ***straight.

https://citizenpath.com/military-enlistment-immigrants/

Quote:
A basic requirement for enlistment in the United States military is having a valid and lawful immigration status. Generally, the armed forces require enlistees to be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or lawful permanent residents (green card holders). However, there are exceptions for citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Palau, and Micronesia, who may enlist owing to a treaty between the United States and their countries. Some foreign nationals who are present legally in the United States and have a valid Social Security Number may enlist through the MAVNI program if their enlistment is “vital to the national interest.” Unfortunately, undocumented aliens (even with DACA) are not currently eligible to enlist in the U.S. armed forces. Once enlisted, U.S. military personnel can acquire expedited citizenship.

All these dreamers should be handed a bill on their way out for all the services we've paid for in their rise to adulthood.

Isn't the goal here to have the senate pass a legislation to give them a legal status so they can stay in the United States?

Let nausi have his fantasy. None of these people are going to be leaving, even Trump knows that.

So many libs today insisted Joe American won't pick avacados for 5 bucks and hour, yet seem to forget they think there should be a 15 dollar minimum wage. I guess they just mean for everyone but Hispanics....
Every year the farmworkers in CA hold a "take my job please" event. Hardly anyone ever takes them up on it.

This spring cherry growers in WA offered $11/hour, food, housing, transportation from major cities. They got not near enough people to harvest their cherries. Can't wait to see what happens with apple season.

Only in America can people break a law and we not do anything to punish them. Every other country in the world enforces immigration laws.
You do realize that this whole concept would would be a non sequitur if the natives had immigration laws.
Chanti native American tribes slaughtered each other, owned slaves and raped women as part of their cultures and conquests. They did not respect other's claims to land or to self governance/autonomy.

This stale "everything was fine until the white man showed up" meme needs to be put out of it's misery.
When did I ever say that?

I have said every problem this nation faces can be directly traced back to the natives' lax immigration policies. I never said they had no problems.

No.

The "goal" is to remove the executive overreach that President Obama did when he didn't get his way. He wrote laws from his desk without congress passing them, it was extremely unconstitutional. The President has large amounts of power regarding enforcement of the borders and national security, most of that power vanishes when dealing with domestic issues.

Congress needs to decide on this issue, either create a path for citizenship or reject it all period. No more of this half *** "not-legal but not entirely-illegal" ***.

Personally I don't mind a path to citizenship opening for these adults who were brought here as children. I also don't want to encourage more parents from south America to run across the border with the hopes of short circuiting the immigration by using their children.

The solution I would go with is give these people a pathway to citizenship. If they are in college already or haven't committed a felony. I have no problem with them being here.

Have zero issues with migrant workers. I actually wish our congress would stop *** around and introduce a fast migrant worker visa program similar to damn near every other first world nation. The VISA should be approved within a handful of months and have strong language stipulating that person can only work for that employer during that time limit and forfeit judiciary benefits if they violate their visa status similar to what the VWP has.

I think better would be a way to get a LPR status (green card) after they graduate high school, and then a mandatory 10~15 year wait until they can apply for citizenship along with no ability to sponsor anyone other then an Immediate Relative.

A big problem with the USA is the chain immigration system. One family member becomes a citizen and then sponsors their entire family who then sponsors their entire extended family. It results in a mass migration with little incentive to integrate or respect the new countries culture. Immigration should be about taking whats best from other countries and integrating it with America to make American culture better. Democrats want to completely replace American culture with their own pro-socialist one imported from other nations.

Takes too long

http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2016/05/28/479633481/farmers-wait-and-wait-for-guest-workers-amid-h-2a-visa-delays

UCIS is terrible with scheduling and the gigantic amounts of red tape make anything immigration related takes triple the amount of time it should take. I know this from personal experience as I'm sponsoring someone myself. They still force the "temporary workers" to go through all the regulatory immigration *** that normal workers and students go through, which completely defeats the purpose. Anyone who would actually use the H2A program for farming would into scheduling issues sooner rather then later.

"Kicking the can" implies that they at least have done something, they keep kicking the can on infrastructure with CRs, they have done nothing on immigration. They almost accomplished bipartisan reform in 2013, then the GOP killed it.

I know more then they do, that hurts their feelings and makes them feel oppressed. I also don't give a flying *** about their feelings or perceptions, which is a huge issue to people brought up to believe that muh feelings >> everything else.
