8 minutes? Maybe pre-WotG but you can do it in less than 3 now if you have the flower quest/thing done.

Naw, its more like a 5-6 minute run all the way to port bastok that way, but still, its not much....

Eh I've done it in 3 from OP. With Sprinter's shoes it doesn't take long at all. If you're walking at normal speed and go all the way around it's going to be slow but there's no reason to do either of those things anymore.
Even faster with swift shoes super power up

A) With the Shiny Light thing, its a hell of alot easier to get to the Pal-(Tab) for doing BCNMs (Mainly Royal Jelly =P)
B) Its quicker than the airship, and teleing in my opinion.

Tele-Dem > Gusgen mines > Oldton Movalpolos > Escape = Faster than that. Your other points are valid though.

My WHM and BLM are both 37, so I can't tele and Escape solo, unless I get a Teleport Dem ring, or get a tele, though getting one on Quetz is like running into a wall head first.
