Even better that I swapped out Mog House theme in favor for Worlds Away :p

Clearing Promyvion the week it was released and getting to the meadows is one of the crowning moments to this game for me. That feeling of discovery was awesome.

Can we actually count the POL OST in this? If so, "Peace of Mind" was always my favourite of all! I'd sit there and listen to that loop over and over sometimes, instead of going on to play FFXI... :p



...if not, then my favourite is that funky Chocobo Theme remix used in the Chocobo Circuit BGM... ^^

I also actually really liked the Abyssea battle music. although it was maddening when exp'ing, never failed to make an actual NM encounter intense.

I wake up to it every morning from the alarm on my phone, xmas season or not. Have for over a year. I'm kinda thrilled it's season-appropriate right now.

However, Zi'tah is best FFXI music.

Probably my favourite battle music after Awakening.

Three come to mind.

The Abyssea Battle Theme
The Ronfaure (S) Theme
And then the Al'Taieu Theme
I did not reach Al'Taeiu until after Wings of the Goddess came out, so I was obviously extremely late to the party, but getting to Sea for the very first time is still one of my favorite moments from FFXI.

Sanctuary will always have a special place in my heart, such a chill song.

I love the entire WoTG Soundtrack in all fairness, so to limit my love.

Like Lina said, it's hard to limit the love for FFXI. I've alway really loved these three in particular, actually looking them up and putting them on repeat, or going and idling in their zones.







I pretty much love every battle and boss music as well. The music really made FFXI for me, pretty much from day 1. Inspired me to go out and give it my all!

Outdoors: The Sacred City of Adoulin
Dungeon: Forbidden Seal
Battle: Hades aka "***'s gonna get serious" (the version that plays vs Melvien, which begins slightly after the 1:00 mark)

On a serious note now:

Gustaberg, my starting zone. This tune brings up memories like nothing else probably, plus I love the slightly asian mood.



Misareaux Coast. This music brings back the WTF effect I had when I first reached it as a noob at level 30, feeling lost, in a completely new world, scared, amazed when gazing at everything around me.



Al'Taieu
Love this music because it was such an incredible feat for a noob like me to reach it in august 2005 when I wasn't even level 75 yet.
So many memories of me and my static friends.
Plus I like how "different" from everything else this sound. Kind of remind me of Phantasy Star Online music, loved it :)



The Gardens of Ru'hmet
For similar reasons as above, loved how "different" this music sounded from everything else, it really standed out and reminded me of PSO.

Man Forbidden Seal is such a badass music, love it so much!

It's difficult to pick only a few when I personally find XI's soundtrack to be one of the best around. It has so much well done atmospheric environmental music, and tons of amazing battle themes.

If I had to pick a personal top 5 for zones and also for combat... probably Aht Urghan Whitegate, East Sarutabaruta [S], South/North Gustaberg, Lufaise Meadows/Misareaux Coast, and Heaven's Tower for zones.

For combat, I'd say Ragnarok (Alexander), Aht Urghan areas dungeon fight theme (party battle music, I think it's called "Delve"), Assault/Nyzul battle music, Promathia fight theme, and the Shinryu fight theme.

Probably not the best, but I really like Provenance theme, super atmospheric:

West Ronfature theme is probably the best, but that has to be expected as it belong to the greatest nation in the world.

Ragnarok is the best boss theme.

XI's filled with great music, and many of my favorites have already been covered, but people don't mention the Nashmau theme, Bandit's Market, nearly often enough - it's great on its own and different parts of the music basically tell you everyone you need to know about the place:
