If Trump really pulls out of NATO like he said in one of his outlandish claims, let's just say I'd be very worried if I lived in Poland.

This is among the more grounded claims/issues I feel like he made. It is really hard to justify the U.S.'s expenditures in NATO sometimes. Not impossible. Not unreasonable. But difficult at times. It doesn't always feel like we're getting fair return on investment.

In disclaimer, I am not an expert on the subject and there could be a lot more nuance about it of which I am not aware.

Here's something positive then:

2016 will be known as when the DNC's best couldn't win against the RNC's worst.

How's that for positive thinking?

It's flawed.

Well, sort of. Maybe she was the "true" DNC's best, but she was not the DNC's best option.

Whatever. Coffee. Viking metal. Pot luck officewide lunch.

POSITIVE.

Hindsight is 20/20. This year was Clinton's year, regardless of if there were actual better options out there. Which there were.

If Biden ran, we would be more than likely celebrating his win this morning. And I would have probably voted for him too.

But all-in-all, the DNC gave Clinton the nomination, regardless of her issues. And those hacked emails proved that.

I'd like to be angrier at Joe for not running but...there were a lot of good reasons for him to not, politically speaking and personally.

But you're absolutely right. Joe or Bernie would have done way better.

My biggest problem with Fallout 4 was that the pre nuclear war part was too short. It would have been more interesting if they let you play around before the war a bit.

The fun part is they could totally work a vault into the hill behind my house. My back yard is actually the perfect place for a Vault door.

...hey...wait a minute...the hill behind my house...I own that.

interesting delusion. I haven't heard anyone call Clinton that before.

Are we talking about the DNC itself or who liberals actually want to represent them?

If we are talking about the DNC organization, then yes they felt Clinton was their best option for winning the election but if we are talking about the general democratic populous then I agree that she wasn't the best candidate for them.

Read what I said again.

I said the DNC, not the democrat/liberal's.

The DNC specifically put out Clinton as their top runner this year. It was her election to lose. And she did.

They didn't think she was the best to win, just the one they wanted as prez. It's been shown in the emails how they were continously uneasy about how difficult it was to make her a better candidate for the electorate.

Quite simply feelings beated rationality.

All this election has been about is feelings and hurt feelings. Rationality denounced its citizenship a while ago.

I'm not trying to be funny or cliche but when you look at our ever-accelerating rate of political correctness and how liberals (as they've had the power and presumed Barry's Blessing was all 4 more years needed) have just pretended everyone that matters is on board...

FEELINGS got hurt by a party on track to make it a civil offense to hurt feelings.
I needed a good laugh this morning... all the people hitching about the of police always amuse me... the only difference nowadays is that people get ***for stuff they didn't get shot for before... it's not like it just started where people got called out for being *** or degenerates but rather that it's also being done for other reasons and perceptions now...

Most critics of the "pc police" like to ignore that... they didn't seem to mind when people got called out for ***they didn't care about or agreed with but now lol....

And most defenders love to ignore how preposterous crap like trigger warnings and safe-spaces has soaked into our culture.

We've gone from repressing one side to repressing the other and while some might call that justice or something akin to "black like me", it just galvanizes people.

Yes, racists are monsters but not every issue is so big as racism. Intelligent conservatives aren't saying you can't be transgender, they're saying maybe parents shouldn't be deciding that for five-year-olds. And yeah, they don't want to explain to their own kids at such a young age.

You want hypocrisy in trigger warnings?

If you search for "thinspo/thin positive" on Tumblr, you get a warning asking if everything is okay, same as you do if you search for suicide or any common self-harm terms.

If you search for "fat positive," no such warnings. Though anorexia and morbid obesity are both medically damaging conditions.

I'm about as anti-bullying and anti-shaming-people as it gets, but the abuse of safe spaces can go *** themselves. "Safe spaces" are a positive thing for people with valid problems. People in abusive relationships/families need a safe place. Rape victims need safe places away from their assaulters.

Fat people don't need safe places away from skinny people to avoid being "triggered."

Sorry, this particular topic is pretty close to home for me. I was fat as hell, and I had some very bad beliefs and feelings about it. But never once did I actually suggest skinny people needed to not be around me because their mere presence made me feel bad.

As I've warned many times before, the snide, condescending tone used against Trump and his supporters backfired. The disenfranchised conservatives who have been pushed into the trenches came out swinging with a vengeance. Division as a strategy didn't work, and I strongly believe that the first party that focuses on uniting instead of dividing will own this nation for a good while.

I'm okay with that being the GOP, but I don't think they're capable of it. I think they've got eight years of vengeance on the brain and they're not going to even think about any sort of reconciliation or coming together with the minority, LGBT, or non-Christian community. They're going to go all-in on their party line and shove through as much as then can while they can.

The establishment of both parties are in shambles.

Another positive thing.

It was a great day for marijuana legalization.

I have a lot of LGBT friends who are really upset right now, and I absolutely get that. There are some very terrible things Pence has proposed that Donald has supported that are very backward and unscientific and damaging to the LGBT community.

That's a strong possibility. Unfortunately I'm too much of a realist to think it will get any better, but we're now entering that very short period of time where there is at least some hope that things will be different. Trump doesn't get a perfectly clean slate thanks to the extremely divisive nature of this election, but he still has a chance to break the mold and set a positive tone.
