I agree that blocking a road isn't a riot. We see roadblocks as a form of protest up here from time to time but that is far more political locally (like a local band being fed up with a company's lying or overcharging the reserve and blocks all their company's vehicles from entering their land)
If you block a road or side street that leads to the organization that you are protesting against (assuming it's not violent or destruction of property), then sure, that act isn't a riot.

Blocking a road/side street/interstate/highway that has nothing to do with whatever you are protesting, that's a riot.

It doesn't even have to go to the political sense. Rioting after your favorite team just won "the big game" would/should be considered the same thing, since it has the exact same consequences (generally speaking, destruction of property).

It's Official: There'll Be a Presidential Recount in Wisc.
Jill Stein submitted a recount petition Friday

Quote:
(Newser) – With just 90 minutes to go before the deadline, Jill Stein officially filed for a recount in Wisconsin, NBC News reports. The state acknowledged it received the petition from the Green Party presidential nominee Friday afternoon. The recount is expected to cost $1.1 million. According to the AP, Wisconsin has never performed a presidential recount before, but state law allows for one if a candidate asks for it—and can pay for it. As of Friday, Stein had raised more than $5 million dollars for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The money will go toward attorneys, filing costs, and recount observers.

Momentum for the "long-shot" recounts in three states where the final vote was markedly different from polling is growing due to Hillary Clinton's massive lead in the popular vote and concerns about possible Russian hacking. The Clinton campaign hasn't commented on recount efforts. While Stein eventually made Friday's deadline in Wisconsin, her wait until the last minute prompted skepticism on social media. "Jill Stein at Nordstrom, telling the sales girl she'll get one in each color," reads one tweet. "A cackling Jill Stein floats off into the sunset in a massive golden blimp with 'RECOUNT' emblazoned on the side," reads another. The recount deadlines in Pennsylvania and Michigan are next week.

Jill Stein is demonstrating one of the cure tenets of capitalism, though: "How to separate gullible idiots from their money."

I truthfully think she just thinks there was an injustice and wants a recount. She consistently spoke her mind throughout the election so this move from her doesn't surprise me. I find it funny how all the Trump backers are treating her like a Clinton supporter in denial.

It's a double-edged sword though if she turns up to be right about it.

On one side if there was indeed an injustice then it's right to fight to remedy; on the other however, just imagine what will happen among the population if Trump gets the election taken from him...

Try, try as you may Jill Stein, the left will always hate you and blame you for Donald Trump winning the election. Bigotry, misogyny and Jill Stein; certainly nothing else caused Hillary to lose. Welcome to The Bubble.

I doubt Stein scooped much votes from Clinton, she seemed to have gotten the average for the green party. I think Johnson stole some, but mostly people who didn't bother to vote at all(seriously, almost 7 mil less than Obama, where are they??)

What is the point of a recount exactly to prove Trump won again ?

To disprove the remote possibility that Russian hackers wanted trump to win so badly that they hacked the voting machines in Wisconsin and Liberal tinfoil hats look more fashionable then conservative ones.

Let's take this seriously for 20 seconds: If you could hack anything why the hell would you want to hack a voting machine ? I'd be hacking into a Swiss bank account. Get me some of that sweet do re mi !

Fidel Castro died yesterday. I know when I grew up learning about him we learned that he was pretty much a bad guy, I'm curious now if that was really the case.

Not really, but he allowed soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba AFTER America deployed missiles in Turkey. Besides that, I guess it's the same old communism/socialism evil propaganda.
You also forget all of the human rights violations throughout the years he was dictator that would make Putin blush.

But I guess that's ok now.

He didn't start out that way. He led a resistance to a brutal dictator, Fulgencio Batista, and originally his ideas were more socialist than communist.

There is a fairly well explored theory that Raul led the swing to hardline communism and had many liberal and progressive members of the resistance killed.

Then there was the appropriation of American owned plantations, leading to the embargo and us labeling Cuba a communist state which they were well on the road to becoming anyway. This pretty left them nowhere to turn for exports and hard money (well, kinda mushy money) other than the communist block.

The Cuban missile crisis and the bay of pigs invasion pretty much killed any possible chance of dialog.

On the plus side Cuba achieved a staggering 99.8% literacy rate under Castro, and a major, world wide, export is trained physicians.

He was anti-American, which instantly forgives all faults in the eyes of progressives.

Cuba made the same mistakes that Cambodia did, believing that Communism was this great new world order that would solve all problems of power distribution. Soon after implementing it, one realizes that the true source or inequality is human nature and that Communism just gives more power to a central government to become even more corrupt then Capitalism. Socialism has the same problems but on a smaller scale since it doesn't give absolute power to a central government entity and instead several entities compete with each other for who can get the most power.

The central lesson here is that the only way to prevent abuse of power and inequality is to decentralize power as much as possible.
