Hillary Clinton 2016 Presidential Thread
By eliroo 2016-08-26 10:06:52
I'll calm down when you offer a solution to the problem, you don't just tell someone to calm down without a plan.
It's like someone says "I'm hungry" and another replies "Oh, don't be."
Calming down to discuss things is typically ideal. "Calm down" doesn't mean "Forget about it", it means "Lets be rational about this". Hard to have a plan if the person won't stop being angry for a second and explain what they are truly angry at.

Point is, I'm not telling you what to do with your life so stop trying to tell me what to do with mine. At least in the realm of decisions where they only effect you and those immediately around you.
The point is, she's not telling you what to do with your life. She's telling you that it's not your place to tell your wife what to do with her body.
Again. In your situation, it's clear that your wife values your input so she will take it under consideration. Maybe even defer to your judgment. And that is her right.
But again. It's her decision and right. Not yours. I thought we weren't supposed to post gifs of Obama smoking here.

That monkey is smoking so you don't have to !

That is my view on this subject. Disagree with me if you want but stop trying to shove your opinion down my throat.
I'm not shoving an opinion down your throat. But it's clear you're in the camp that befuddles beliefs with facts.
But at this point I'm going to just accept you at your word that your wife desires your input on the topic and let it go, as while we may fundamentally disagree, it's not actually having an effect on anything.

Don't try to reason with it. Women aren't human ! That's what attracted me to the fencepost to begin with. At least it won't complain if the sex is lacking, or you don't take it somewhere nice, or if you've been focusing on your UFC Iron team too much. Splinters.
By fonewear 2016-08-26 10:11:56
As much as they preach equality. There are fundamental differences between men and women. That will not change no matter what they say. So instead of arguing with them. I suggest ignoring them/stop caring. You will save yourself a lot of trouble.

This argument isn't a factual one anyway, it is based off of beliefs.
For the record, I fully support the decision of Roe V. Wade.

I didn't but I didn't particularly want to rehash the same old abortion arguments over and over. But you're right, it's my fault for bringing it up, one way or another.
But at least it got LG out of here for a while.

Oh yea what do you think about Calder v. Bull
By eliroo 2016-08-26 10:25:03
Not familiar with this case.
By fonewear 2016-08-26 10:27:25
Not familiar with this case.
I looked it up cause I have no life. It is about:
No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility
By fonewear 2016-08-26 10:27:55
An ex post facto law or retroactive law, is a law that retroactively changes the legal consequences of acts committed or the legal status of facts and relationships that existed prior to the enactment of the law.[2]
The holding in this case still remains good law: the ex post facto provision of the Constitution applies solely to criminal cases, not civil cases

Then you want to police what women can, or rather can't, do with their bodies.
and believe that the states themselves should decide the issue not the federal government. That way it's up to the people to choose in these 50 states. I don't think states should be able to police what people do with their bodies. You'd have people going across state lines to abort.
You got a problem about freely traveling in the 50 states? I don't if your a legal citizen . Don't like your state go to another or move to another it's your "choice ". That's what America is all about

You have no respect for marriage if you say otherwise. And you'd have no respect for your wife if you were to force her either through pregnancy or abortion. Both cannot be your call.
But I expect people to discuss such important life expectations before marrying...
Don't cherry pick statements:
My wife already knows and respects my values and hers align with mine as well. If for whatever reason she told me she would want an abortion just because she wasn't ready then we would have a discussion about it. If we both disagreed it would probably be a tough call. Marriage is about two people and the kid would be both of ours so the decision falls between us both. Knowing my record with arguments and my Wife, I would probably lose.
The thing is, your opinion on the gay thing is based on incorrect information. You can believe it's a decision, but that doesn't mean your opinion deserves to be respected. People don't seem to understand that by stating it's a choice, that means you also made that choice to be straight. If it was a choice for you, then that means you are attracted to both sexes. Never fantasized about a guy in your life? Then you didn't make a decision. What is so difficult to understand that there are people who have never been interested in the opposite sex? There's no deciding involved. No more than deciding you have the height you have.
Like I said, you don't have to believe that, but the two opinions cannot coexist and both be respected. It's not even necessarily something about being born that way. That's more foggy, but pretending as though someone actively made a choice? No. I'd wager you didn't. And don't mistake being attracted to one sex and then deciding to go against that urge is the same thing. That's the only decision involved for anyone. You're attracted to what you're attracted to, deciding to pursue it is the only decision.

I don't know why I'm taking this bait.
Let me clarify for you a bit what I mean. I think in another post I was a bit more clear.
First, I am only talking in regardless to my son or my daughter. I'm not going to arguing with you about whether or not you should be Gay or not. I don't care. That is your choice, or in your opinion your preference.
That is how I have my opinion but respect yours.
Second, I believe that for most cases it is life influences that make a person Gay or not. Very few people are born with genetic displacement for being Gay. A male being attracted to a female is natural. Whether you believe in a God or not Males and Females were made to interact with each other and reproduce. That is utterly undeniable. A myriad of events cane make one prefer females over males. So, you are right, it isn't a choice that we outwardly make but rather a subconscious choice that we make that will be near impossible to change.
If you read my response to LadyofHonor you will get a more clear explanation of what I believe.
Quote: As for my son being gay, as long as we can agree that very, very few people are born gay. I would raise my kid with heavy influences on a straight lifestyle. If he is still young and decides he is gay (Young enough to not make clear decision), I would do my best to influence him away from that decision. If he is old enough to make his own decisions then there is nothing I can do. I would feel disappointed and sad but I'm not going to punish him. I would most likely just let it go. There isn't much else you can do.
What I posted earlier.
I think it is a dicey subject regardless. I am not trying to offend anyone or tell anyone else they can't be Gay.

If we vote LG we won't have to worry about fluoride in our water anymore. We can all have cavities equally.
Hillary Clinton Presidential Race 2016
What She Stands For
Education: Make public college debt-free. Fund universal pre-K. Against No Child Left Behind. Position unknown on Common Core.
Guns: Ban several types of assault weapons. Repeal protections for gun makers. Create a comprehensive background check system and close loopholes.
Healthcare: Give the government a role is setting insurance rates. Expand Obamacare but do not attempt to create a universal healthcare system now.
Immigration: Continue DACA and DAPA programs to waive deportation and expand them. Give undocumented residents a path to legal status.
Jobs and Wages: $275 billion stimulus plan. Tax credits for jobs. Raise federal minimum wage to $12 an hour.
Marijuana: “Wait and see” on overall legalization.
Social Issues: Abortion should be legal. So should same-sex marriage.
Taxes: A series of targeted tax credits for the middle class. Raise capital gains taxes.
Israel: Work toward a two-state solution. Do not necessarily freeze settlement building.
Iran: Support framework for nuclear deal. Continue diplomacy efforts and some sanctions.
Islamic State: No boots on the ground. Use regional troops.
Trade: Clinton announced last year that she does not support the Trans-Pacific Partnership as it currently stands. The deal — the largest trade agreement in history — cuts trade barriers, protects multinational corporations’ intellectual properties and sets labor and environmental standards. ( in other works makes the US even more of a jobless nation compared to other "free trade deals"
